Position Summary:

WCLV 104.9 Classical Radio in Cleveland has an opening for a Host/Producer. The selected candidate will,

Produce and present high-quality, relevant, competitive radio through performing air shifts and proper technical operation. Present credible classical commentary for recorded-as-live or live programming. Provide syndication operations support.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform voice-tracked air shifts and live air shifts, as required, including announcing, image liners, promos, etc. and operating equipment for on-air broadcasts.

  • Maintain operating, program and EAS logs, per federal regulations.

  • Schedule interviews with guests, and conduct/record interviews, as directed.

  • Under the supervision of the Program Director,

  • research and write scripts for radio commentary

  • create segments and long-form programs as assigned.

  • Contribute to station social media and website content.

  • Maintain affiliate station data base and ensure timely delivery of marketing materials and CDs.

  • Participate in on-air fundraising as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Familiarity with current FCC regulations applying to broadcast operations

Familiarity with production requirements for handling both locally- originated and network materials

Understanding of practices and procedures required for the highest quality broadcast and recorded product.

Competency as an announcer in the classical format, including the vocabulary, diction, and grammar required to communicate effectively with an educated, upscale audience and basic knowledge of music, principal composers and pronunciation rules of major languages.

Strong written and oral communications skills, with competency in use of computers and common office software.

Demonstrated technical aptitude.

Demonstrated ability to perform detail work in an organized, competent manner.

Must be proficient working in Microsoft Office suite.


A moderate level of professional on-air hosting and production experience with demonstrated competence in radio board operation handling both locally originated and network-fed materials. Familiarity with the Associated Press ENPS and SADiE editing software preferred.


Post-secondary degree or certificate or equivalent experience.

Essential Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Ability to see, communicate, speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear and utilize electronic communication devices.
