Enterprise Services and Systems (ESS) is actively seeking a developer to be part of a team responsible for the full software development lifecycle of various initiatives, including analysis, design, development, testing and support. The candidate will work closely with business partners to deliver solutions to meet business needs. The candidate will also work collaboratively with a broader technology organization to ensure solutions meet high technical quality standards and follow software development best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts analysis of user requirements, ensuring that the approach is in line with ESS development standards.
  • Recommends system solutions by identifying key advantages and disadvantages.
  • Participates in the full software development cycle by coordinating requirements, contributing to team meetings.
  • Writes technical documentation and testing assistance tools.
  • Updates job knowledge by researching new technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • 3 years of relevant Java/J2EE development experience
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline required
  • Hands on experience with SQL, database object modeling and performance tuning (Oracle preferred)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts and design patterns
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies and test-driven development practices
  • Experience with Business Intelligence platforms and OLAP tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with service oriented architectures, data warehousing and grid computing is desirable
  • Proven track record of delivery
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Driven, self-motivated, able to multitask and work under pressure
  • Keeps up to date on emerging technologies
