Software Engineer

Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, delivering & support of software deliverables in the Data Warehousing and Data Analytics space. The candidate would be working hands-on with Code Java and experience working with Big Data Solutions. Candidate will be will be expected to quickly learn the complexity of the product and technologies and start delivering in a fast paced Agile environment. (S)he will be working independently with minimum supervision, with a geographically distributed team. (S)he should have good work ethics & strong communication skill (both verbal and written).


+ Work with a team in the design and implement of Java application(s) solutions supporting a next generation of data warehouse systems

+ Work closely with development, support, DBA and business teams

+ Understand and work on strategic platforms

+ Adopt good software engineering practices and ability to deliver quality product.

+ Subject matter expert in Java, Coding best practices.


+ 7+ years of experience as a professional Software Engineer.

+ Java Skills including but not limited to Multithreading, Collection classes, File IO, Distributed programming etc.

+ Experience with working with DB’s (Oracle/Hadoop/HBase/ Netezza, and good data analytics skills

+ Strong knowledge and experience with complex SQL queries (PLSQL/Q kdb) and data analysis.

+ Strong problem solving skills.

+ Strong ability to work with a Team and deliver in an individual contributor role.

+ Exposure to source code management tools – Code (JIRA), svn, git.

+ Good experience working with IDE like Eclipse, Intellij.

Desired skills.

+ Experience in the financial industry is a plus

+ Experience with regulatory work.

+ Experience working on MPP databases.

+ Experience in Agile development model.

+ Experience in scripting skills in Unix/Linux (Shell/Perl/Python/…)
