Job Description

If you are an experienced and energetic multi-tasker who would enjoy providing administrative support to executive and director level staff, in a health care environment, our Administrative Assistant position may be the position you are seeking.

The Administrative Assistant reports to and routinely provides clerical support to the hospital's Chief Executive Officer and the Medical Director and other department directors, as needed.  Other responsibilities include daily distribution of  physician assignments, updating physician on-call schedules, calendar management, answering  phones, typing reports and correspondence, initiating verification of medical staff credentials for each  new applicant and reappointment of current med staff members, onboarding physicians, scheduling meetings, assembling materials for meetings, attending and taking  minutes at departmental and clinical meetings (e.g. Med Exec Committee, Med Staff Committee, etc.), contract administration, and maintaining  policy and procedures manuals.

Job Requirements

Education: Associate Degree in Business Administration or related field; or  an  equivalent combination of  education and  experience.

Experience: At least three years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a health care setting.

Additional requirements: Must be able to type at least 65 wpm; knowledge of medical terminology preferred and thorough knowledge of Word and Excel software programs. Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal, time management and computer skills.
