Peachford Hospital is seeking a talented Admissions Registered Nurse (Psych RN).

Located in the beautiful Dunwoody neighborhood of Atlanta, Peachford features individual units for children, adolescents, adults and seniors, serving residents of Georgia and beyond. We offer inpatient acute care, as well as partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. (www.peachford.com)

The Admissions Registered Nurse (Psych RN) will deliver quality nursing care to both psychiatric and chemically dependent adult, geriatric and adolescent patients.

Key Responsibilities of the Admissions Nurse (Psych RN) include:

  • Assess patients through a systematic process of interacting with patient, the patient’s significant others, and the appropriate health care providers during the admission of a patient.
  • Collect and analyze data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and anticipated discharge planning needs.
  • Reviews labs for patients’ alcohol or drug toxicity and identify signs of withdrawal.
  • Develop a comprehensive outline of care and specific goals and interventions to be included in treatment planning.
  • Communicate changes in patient’s condition.
  • Participate in hospital emergency codes necessary to the unit’s and the hospital’s safe operation.
  • Comply with safety and security policies and procedures, including those regarding incidents and injuries.
  • Complete nurse to nurse reports for incoming patients and review labs for admissions (when available).
  • Complete the nursing admission when available to include: database, treatment planning, flowsheet and admit note.

Job Requirements

Admissions Nurse (RN) experience in a psychiatric hospital preferred. State of Georgia RN License or eNLC License from a participating state.
