AppD Senior Director of Sales Enablement (Global)

The Senior Director of Sales Enablement is responsible for leading the development and execution of all AppDynamics Sales, and Technical enablement programs for Sales and Sales Engineering staff.

Key objectives include:

       Continued development and running of next-generation new-hire onboarding process, for Sales, Inside Sales, Sales Engineering and Post Sales teams.  The new hire process will define a structured, consistent and highly repeatable process to drive the rapid onboarding of new hires globally, within AppDynamics.  Successful delivery of the new hire process enables foundational understanding of the AppDynamics product platform and sales process, directly resulting in driving down ramp time, increasing overall sales productivity, and improving competitive win rates.

       Creation and execution of programs to increase field operational excellence.  Successful delivery includes creation, and field rollout, of organizational wide assets and platforms, to increase the execution and assessment of the technical sales process; for example, technical deep dives, use case definition, POV scoping, and POV wrap-up deliverables, POV echo backs.

  • Creation, field delivery, and enablement of technical collateral to support AppDynamics sales team.  This will range from managing AppDynamics technical demo workflows and demo systems, as well as technical presentations covering AppDynamics alignment to customer roles (personas) and industry trends.  Successful delivery will result in increased demo proficiency across the Sales Engineering organization, with an end-state goal of a higher conversion rate from first meetings into proof of value phases.
  • Execution of Sales and Sales Engineering learning programs.  Learning programs will address providing both foundational, and continuing, knowledge of the AppDynamics platform, as well as ongoing-curated education in technologies, and technical initiatives, aligned to the AppDynamics platforms.

       Management of a global team of 15->20 individual contributors, or team leads, supporting the enablement goals.

The successful candidate should be results oriented, collaborative and excel at leading and working within a team environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that new sales hires at every level are rapidly integrated with an effective training program covering product knowledge and sales processes

Measure the impact of sales training on sales productivity and take action to optimize

Evaluate and optimize every aspect of the Sales Process. Look for opportunities to mature existing Sales Tools and develop new ones.

Drive sales process, execution and adoption

Regularly review with the sales management team to identify additional training/development needs

Align training requirements for new product launches and introductions

Assist with Go To Market strategy for new product

Work with sales management team to create talent development programs, mentor programs and career development pathways for both new and experienced sales team members and managers

Manage a global team

Travel:

Senior Director of Sales Enablement is expected to travel 30->40% of the time, primarily within North America.  Some International travel, 5->10%, with a focus on Europe may be required

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience

Proven track record of highly successful experience in sales engineering, or a product marketeering role

Hands on or field sales experience and deep knowledge of the APM industry.

Ability to understand and relate both platform and competitive differentiator value propositions to junior, and experienced, technical and sales employees.

Experience training sales people and have seen them immediately use what you taught them with prospects

Deep understanding of enterprise sales processes

Demonstrated capability in working with various departments such as Sales, Product Marketing and Product Management

Knowledge of learning techniques and design/delivery of training programs is helpful

Excellent organizational skills and abilities to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
