Introduction
As anIBM Application Architect, you directlyhelp clients transformtheir businessandsolve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. You are a technical leader, serving as a liaison among business partners, technical resources, and project stakeholders.


Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM CIO organization plays a major role in delivering new technologies to our end users. Among other things our applications support our Pricing process and are built by self-directed, end-to-end development squads spread around the world. We believe that with the right people on board, anything is possible.

We are looking for a resourceful, motivated and creative Application Architect who will share and grow experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment and who has the desire to work with high performing teams!

You will work as a member of our co-located DevOps delivery squad and will collaborate with multiple squads around the world to provide technical leadership to enhance and support a global Pricing application critical to IBMs business.

Responsibilities Include
  • Defining the structures of solutions and architectures to address client business problems
  • Understands the client needs and business constraints, works in levels of abstraction, applies industry knowledge and leverages appropriate business elements and information technology to address those needs
  • Lead the Software Development squads software design and development, executing the software development process to ensure operational excellence and high-quality outcomes
  • Identify and implement DevOps tools and practices for Continuous Integration, Builds and Monitoring of Solutions
  • Monitoring system performance to identify and forecast performance bottlenecks and take necessary steps to improve
  • Performing analysis of, documenting, reporting, escalating, triaging and resolving application/system issues
  • Reviewing current system security measures and recommending and implementing enhancements

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with Microservices, Containers, Kubernetes
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Information Security (with a focus on Security, Performance and Reliability) within a cloud / cloud based / scaled environment
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in Development Languages (i.e. Java, Angular, Python)
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Web Services, Rest API
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Linux operating system
  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in RedHat OpenShift
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts and tools for scaled implementations of 30-50 microservices or more with integrated operations
  • Demonstrated experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile and within a Scaled Framework
  • Ability to be flexible as to schedules and work assignments, including possible on-call duty for deployments or support



Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience in Pricing, Procurement and/or Fulfillment
  • Experience in IBM Cloud
  • Experience in Vulnerability and Penetrating Testing
