\u003Cdiv data-field=\u0022Position_Description\u0022 class=\u0022Summary\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPOSITION PURPOSE\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EThe Asset Protection Manager (APM) is responsible for executing key initiatives relating to theft, fraud, operational accountability, safety and environmental compliance in The Home Depot stores. The APM must be skilled at building partnerships and must be responsive to the Asset Protection (AP) concerns of the Store Manager (SM), District Manager, (DM), District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) and all store associates. Key responsibilities include supervising hourly AP associates, assessing and reporting AP vulnerabilities and developing strategies to address them, conducting internal and external theft and fraud investigations, ensuring preservation of evidence, accurate reporting and truthful testimony, ensuring execution of all shrink-related operational processes, driving safety and environmental programs and educating store associates on AP programs and processes. A qualified APM can multi-task and obtain the cooperation and buy-in of associates to achieve goals. The APM must remain focused on store specific business objectives identified in partnership with the SM while ensuring key AP responsibilities are fulfilled.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EDrive execution of store safety programs and ensure compliance with company standards and policies. Use data to identify trends that may lead to accidents. \u003Cbr /\u003E Ensure environmental compliance to company standards. \u003Cbr /\u003E Execute and drive shrink-related operational processes. Independently analyze store data to identify associate behaviors and / or operational issues that may cause shrink. \u003Cbr /\u003E Drive execution of the Company\u0027s internal and external theft and fraud strategy and ensure compliance with company standards and policies. \u003Cbr /\u003E Conduct internal investigations in partnership with the DAPM and Human Resources. Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner. Monitor criminal cases, appear in court and testify. \u003Cbr /\u003E Recruit and select qualified hourly AP associates. Supervise, develop and retain qualified hourly AP associates.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ENATURE AND SCOPE\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EPosition reports to District Operations Manager. \u003Cbr /\u003E Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ETravel: \u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003ETypically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAdditional Environmental Job Requirements: \u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E- Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface \u003Cbr /\u003E- The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy \u003Cbr /\u003E- Doors near the department are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes \u003Cbr /\u003E- Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions \u003Cbr /\u003E- May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges \u003Cbr /\u003E- Passing forklifts emit gas fumes \u003Cbr /\u003E- Tools, supplies and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials\u003C/div\u003E\u003Cdiv data-field=\u0022Postion_Requirement\u0022 class=\u0022Requirement\u0022\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EMust be eighteen years of age or older.\u003Cbr /\u003EMust be legally permitted to work in the United States.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAdditional Minimum Qualifications:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EEducation Required:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EThe knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EYears of Relevant Work Experience: \u003C/strong\u003E3 years\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPhysical Requirements:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EMost of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EAdditional Qualifications:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EBe able to work a flexible schedule, which might include supporting multiple stores. \u003Cbr /\u003E At least one year of relevant retail work experience at the department supervisor level or above, which can include supervisory positions in construction, lighting, lumber, plumbing, etc., or supervisory experience in retail outlets.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EPreferred Qualifications:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003EThe knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelors degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job. \u003Cbr /\u003E Four plus years in retail industry or Home Depot equivalent. \u003Cbr /\u003E Relevant work experience in any of the following fields: Store Operations, Asset Protection, Safety, Environmental, Law Enforcement and Military. \u003Cbr /\u003E Multi-site experience (6-12 locations) with 1,000 plus associates. \u003Cbr /\u003E Supervisory experience, 2 plus years of district-based Asset Protection management experience. \u003Cbr /\u003E Completed the Loss Prevention Qualified (LPQ) course through the Loss Prevention Foundation. \u003Cbr /\u003E Completed the Loss Prevention Certification (LPC) through the Loss Prevention Foundation.\u003Cbr /\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:\u003C/strong\u003EKnowledge of retail Asset Protection, Operations, and Safety processes, programs and procedures. \u003Cbr /\u003E Ability to work cross-functionally to identify solutions to mitigate shrink, theft, and fraud and create safe work environments. \u003Cbr /\u003E Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral. \u003Cbr /\u003E Highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive and controversial issues. \u003Cbr /\u003E Proficient in use of retail CCTV systems. \u003Cbr /\u003E Strong analytical and financial analysis skills. \u003Cbr /\u003E Ability to teach, coach, and train associates to drive change and execute process improvements across region. \u003Cbr /\u003E Technology competence (Basic P.C. skills) Desktop Office Suite must be proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. \u003Cbr /\u003E Presentation skills. \u003Cbr /\u003E Change Management and Project Management.\u003C/div\u003E
