SUMMARY:  The Assistant controller oversees the daily operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable team.  Partners with the Controller and CFO on Finance process for continual improvement. Embraces and executes the Company core values while actively supporting the Companys vision and goals.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties will be assigned in a progressive manner:

Supervises AR and works with customers to maximize cash flow and maintain excellent communication process.

Supervises AP and works with vendors to maintain good working relationships and maintain excellent communication process.

Provides essential support to the Controller to provide accurate and timely financial reports on a monthly basis.

Responsible for various key reconciliations such as cash, AR, AP, RNI, etc.

Reviews reconciliations created by financial analysts and provides guidance for accurate and consistent reconciliations.

Manages annual audit with PWC keeping team on track and reviews data submissions.

Creates and provides ad-hoc reports for CFO, Controller and Financial Reporting Manager as required.

Administers tax policies and procedures based on direction provided by the Controller and CFO.

Participates in the preparation of financial reports to government agencies.

Provides other managers and departments with information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities.

Working closely with Controller to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities.

Maintenance and documentation of finance procedures & policies with a continual improvement approach.

Collaborate with the finance leaders on areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs.

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES:  In daily work, a team member is responsible to maintain or exceed the degree of excellence requested by the internal and external customers of this department. This includes following established policies, following ISO 9001 & 14001 policies, business practices, and work instructions, using problem-solving techniques to solve root causes of problems, and viewing quality as customer satisfaction. Bachelors in finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or Business Law or equivalent work experience / certifications and / or equivalent experience.  

3+ years accounting experience preferably in manufacturing with at least three years in supervisory position, or at least five years public accounting experience, with at least three years in a supervisory position.

Proven ability to build strong business relationships/partnerships.

Proficient in computer environments, both PC and mainframe and in the use of spreadsheets and office management software.

Familiarity with Federal and State Labor laws that affect the Companies taxes and financial obligations.

Familiar with federal acquisition rules and cost accounting standards as applicable to government contracts.
