Job Description

North Spring Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. is an 87-bed, Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services licensed, Joint Commission accredited Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility and 16-bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital providing evidence-based inpatient services for children and adolescents with a broad spectrum of psychiatric service needs. Last year we expanded our continuum of care by opening a Partial Hospital Program (PHP) that offers a variety outpatient services for children and adolescents.  Additionally have two capacity expansions planned for completion over the next 9 months due to the high demand for our services. Our strategic plan for the past three years has been centered on improving fidelity to our evidence-based clinical methodology.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Director/Substance Abuse Coordinator to join our PHP clinical team. This individual will provide clinical services, organize substance abuse treatment services and assist the Outpatient Services Director.

Key responsibilities: 

  1. Provides at minimum, monthly staff training in respect to the integration of our substance abuse treatment model into the milieu, program and therapeutic interventions.
  2. Works with the Outpatient Services Director and Clinical Program Director in developing the milieu, program and therapeutic interventions in order to increase fidelity to our clinical model.
  3. Works with the Clinical Program Director to develop and implement a formal staff-competency system.
  4. Meets performance outcomes.
  5. Provides psychotherapy services for residents to include individual, family and group therapy scheduling and facilitation of treatment team reviews and documentation.
  6. Facilitates and attends all treatment teams for assigned residents.
  7. Attends weekly clinical supervision.
  8. Coordinates multifamily/group/family education group..
  9. Completes all program notes before the end of the business day.
  10. Completes psychosocial assessment within required timeframe.
  11. Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the facility

Compensation package:

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements:

  1. A minimum of a Master’s Degree in human services field (i.e. psychology, social work, counseling, education).

  2. Must hold CSAC and/or LSATP certification in Virginia.

  3. Preference for those currently licensed in the state of Virginia (LPC, LCSW or a Licensed Psychologist) or under an approved supervision plan.

  4. Preference given to those with at least a year of recent experience with children/adolescents, particularly in an outpatient services setting.

  5. A combination of mental health experience and relevant education to deliver psychotherapy services to consumers.The required knowledge, skills, and abilities must be documented and observable in the application form and interview and can be verified by additional references.

  6. Subject to pre-employment drug screen and criminal background investigation.

  7. Must be at least 21 years old.
