This role will use a variety of technologies to utilize newer data platforms that allow for the storage and analysis of large volumes of data. In addition to utilizing standard Descriptive and Predictive methodologies, the scope of the job will also include the design and development of technology solution and applications for space optimization, including predictive modeling, cluster analysis and anomaly detection. The Associate Data Scientist space optimization is responsible for supporting or leading data science projects, developing advanced analytics and data science capabilities, and building relationship with internal customers and cross-functional teams to deliver data science tools, solutions, analysis, recommendations and insights that drive sales and profitability, improve customer experience and store labor efficiency.\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EMAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E 50% Provide micro and macro space optimization analysis of varying scope across items, categories, and departments. \u003Cbr /\u003E 20% Communicate the approach and recommendations generated by tools to senior business leaders. \u003Cbr /\u003E 20% Evaluate and identify opportunities during store projects and business resets for THD \u003Cbr /\u003E 10% Partner with store planning and space planning to support and execute new concepts resulting from competitive and space productivity analyses\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003ENATURE AND SCOPE\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Position reports to Sr Director Space Management \u003Cbr /\u003E No direct reports\u003Cdiv\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E \u003Cstrong\u003EEnvironment: \u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr /\u003E Located in a comfortable indoor area.
