The Associate Director, Business Reporting and Analytics is a key leadership role that plays an integral part of the Enterprise Print & Correspondence Organization.  The Leader of the team provides Financial, Forecasting & Analytics for internal & external business partners.  Key duties to include forecasting by line of business/product lines, reporting, invoicing, chargebacks & analytics.  He/She will also report on key initiatives such as e-delivery, house holding, and postage optimization to name a few.  Role also supports several business partners within E&I, M&R, C&S, Optum, Finance & Vendor Management.   As a change agent, this leader will also be asked to help accelerate the delivery of technology based initiatives as we look to further differentiate UnitedHealth Group from its competitors in the marketplace - our ability to move with greater speed and flexibility is absolutely paramount.     


Primary Responsibilities:
 

  • Accountable for Key reporting Metrics/reporting  across key lines of product line materials - Annual, Transactional & ID Card based product line
  • Partner and develop relationships across the Enterprise in support of financial planning and performance measurement including reporting and analysis
  • Perform monthly close analysis  with Finance organization in terms of monthly close analysis to facilitate understanding of monthly results against the financial plan
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate cost savings initiatives along with technology investment opportunities to maximize resources and create efficiencies  
  • Partners with Business & Finance organizations to prepare Annual Budget & Qtrly Forecasts, including Fcst vs Fcst & Year over Year Analysis based on changes to membership,  volumes, metrics, and/or unit costs
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams in conjunction with budgeting, forecasting and providing key information on Householding and Project Mercury to ensure budgeted and forecasted goals are achieved
  • Develop/Automate, Implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data: ensuring best practices  
  • Partnering with stakeholders to ensure proper strategy, plan, alignment, integration and visibility
  • Driving consensus and decision-making with business, IT and executive management
  • Influencing senior executive leaders to balance competing priorities
  • Leading matrix teams to common solutions
  • Leading, coaching, mentoring and managing a team of Business Analysts

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of operational financial analysis, financial tracking or financial reporting experience
  • 5 + years of supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in transforming systems/processes in terms of  continuous improvement resulting in greater efficiencies and greater accuracy of data
  • Advanced level of proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) & Data Base Tools, including data management, pivot tables, data lookup, and macros 
  • Proven track record of successfully leading enterprise-scale, complex programs
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment while positively influencing other functional areas
  • Strong analytical background, attention to details

  • Experience with enterprise financial systems

  • PBM, Healthcare, or Insurance experience

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Generative innovative approached and solutions to business opportunities

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others

  • Ability to absorb a wide breath of information from multiple initiatives

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, team building and relationship management skills

  • Capable of gaining support for initiatives through influence and use of business rationale 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA or higher degree in Accounting, business or Finance
  • Consolidations, eliminations, and intercompany Finance/accounting experience 
  • Print/Operations Experience Preferred
  • Transformation/Change Agent
