Job Description

The Associate Director, Commercial Strategy and Analytics, will be responsible for coordinating and executing the overall strategy and analytics engagements for global marketing and portfolio. In this role, they will leverage their skill set to design and scope out comprehensive work plans and work streams, engage internal stakeholders, leverage external
resources and participate in presentations and/or workshops to deliver meaningful insights to address identified business challenges.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Lead matrixed project teams to execute a range of small to enterprise-level analytical projects leveraging data analytics to support pipeline strategy Marketing, Digital Innovation, Market Access, Sales and other Commercial areas
  • Fully understand all relevant data available, including the nuances and be able to structure and lead projects leveraging data to answer critical questions
  • Participate in setting project scope and conduct information gathering exercises as part of the project design phase to identify data requirements, resource needs and stakeholders to be involved
  • Create a detailed project plan including timing, budget and dependencies and utilize a hypothesis-driven problem-solving approach to review project plans and work streams with internal stakeholders prior to executing
  • Oversee all components of the project plan and activities between work streams
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops and ideation sessions during the execution phase to engage stakeholders, ensure full alignment and generate strategic insights
  • Work closely with other Analytics functions on identifying data, information and resources that can deliver new insights
  • Enhance overall organizational adoption of analytics-driven decision making
  • Educate other Commercial functions on process and methodology for execution of analytics-driven initiatives
  • Create a repository of project objectives, scope, plans, models and presentations that can be leveraged and enhanced for future analytic opportunities
  • Incorporate project performance measures ensuring accountability on high quality and timely results that deliver on objectives
  • Standardize project closeout procedures to track delivering upon the plan and enable process improvement
  • Gather stakeholder feedback to demonstrate an increase in analytic impact on business performance, efficiencies or other applicable metrics
  • Conduct milestone assessments to evaluate longer term impact of implemented recommendations
Qualifications

Requirements:

Required: Bachelors Degree in a technical or quantitative field from an accredited college or university 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or health care industry and familiarity with commercial ecosystems and data sources  used within pharmaceuticals
  • 3+ years working in a professional consulting firm, an internal strategy/analytics group or similar environment with experience in strategy and/or analytics consulting
  • Knowledge of statistical and analytics techniques tools. Advanced of knowledge of Excel and familiarity in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlik etc.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in analytics related areas including finance, statistics, data science, economics
  • Proven track record in data rich analysis, interface with strategic partners and skills to derive insights. Strong project management skills including breaking complex initiatives into detailed component parts and sequencing actions appropriately.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities with a commitment to delivering on-time and quality results / Proficiency in deriving insights from multiple data and information sources.
  • Curious and motivated self-starter who can lead, coordinate and influence the efforts of cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others at different levels in the organization / Exceptional communicator who can understand, distill, and translate complex concepts.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, strategic thinking / Ability to work successfully in complex, ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
