The Research division's New Product Development team is responsible for defining the department's growth strategy and developing new products and services. In helping to fuel the growth engine of a high-growth division of Optum and UHG, the team enjoys close partnership with executive leadership across the business. The successful individual will possess the following characteristics: comfort with ambiguity, ability to work in a matrixed environment, ability to work collaboratively across teams.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively propose new opportunities and products that align with the Advisory Board portfolio, oversee evaluation of assigned ideas
  • Oversee market sizing and competitor analyses; draft positioning collateral
  • Oversee and conduct rigorous market testing by interviewing key industry stakeholders
  • Review proforma analyses
  • Based on research findings, make recommendations to department leadership about viability of product and terrain opportunity
  • Collaborate with development and product management teams on internal builds
  • Lead internal approval process for product development
  • Lead and collaborate on initial hiring, sales, and implementation activities for new products
  • Manage appropriate staff for each product development project
  • Build pipeline for Advisory Board and drive business development as products launch
  • Expand the firm's knowledge base in emerging terrains, e.g. telehealth reimbursement models, application of AI and ML to manage clinical care variation
  • Mentor team staff and play a role in team operations
