Job Description

The Associate Director of Sales Operations is the lead strategic partner from Sales Operations to one of Tevas therapeutically-aligned selling teams and is responsible for partnering and collaborating with the Senior Sales Leadership and Sales Operations Centers of Excellence (COEs) to define, implement, and manage the sales planning strategies and to measure sales force effectiveness; to proactively and independently lead presentations to provide insights and analytics that inform the continuous improvement of selling strategies and tactics.  The Sales Planning accountabilities include leading sales force sizing, territory alignments and deployment, customer valuations, Account and HCP targeting, call planning, field sales and activity analysis/reporting, Business Development Sales Force analysis, commercial data requirements and sourcing, Sales Operations support for product launches and business development planning, sales force communications and managing sales force data/business inquiries.  This position requires strong Pharmaceutical Sales Operations business acumen combined with strong technical skills to directly analyze data from Tevas reporting systems and commercial data warehouse. This individual will partner with external analytics partners and the N.A. Specialty Medicines Commercial Analytics COE to deliver analytics on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to inform better business decisions.

 

  • Direct all aspects of targeting, call plans, and territory alignments for Sales Team(s).
  • Direct effective communication of sales planning functions with sales leadership and field sales personnel including training and rollout of sales planning initiatives and responding to field inquiries.
  • Partner with Incentive Compensation team, Sales Leadership, and Executive Leadership to design annual Incentive Compensation plans and sales contests for sales teams.
  • Conduct ad-hoc and pro-active analyses related to sales performance and promotional efforts in support of sales presentations, sales effectiveness, and launch performance tracking.
  • Partner with Sales Reporting COE partner and sales leadership to develop reporting requirements, communications and training standards; partner with Field Services and Field Technology COE partners to define, implement and communicate key initiatives.
  • Lead a cross functional team in annual / bi-annual sales force sizing exercises in support of AOP and LRP financial planning.  Complete additional analyses as needed due to new product launches.
  • Direct an Associate (and/or contract analyst) of Sales Planning & Operations by providing project oversight prioritization and fostering an environment for career growth and development.
  • Other projects, development, and duties as required/assigned including following Teva Safety, Health, Compliance, and Environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Education:4 Year Degree Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting or similar required; MS or MBA preferred.

 

Experience Required: 7+ years of Pharmaceutical Sales Operations, Sales Planning, Sales Administration, Pharmaceutical Marketing, or similar experience in a Corporate or Line of Business function; Must have 2+ years of hands-on experience performing analyses using one or more of the following: SAS, SQL, R, Python, etc. (SAS preferred.)

 

Experience Preferred: 10+ years within above sales operations areas and 2+ years of people management experience within these functions

 

Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed:

  • Experience in leading and managing cross functional/matrixed teams.
  • Experience leading multiple functional areas within Sales Operations, including Incentive Compensation, Sales Planning and Analytics and Sales Reporting.
  • Proven judgment skills, ability to influence, and build strong relationships at all levels of the commercial organization
  • Strong written, oral and presentation communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners
  • Ability to exercise discretion in handling sensitive, confidential matters.
  • Excellent problem solver and independent thinker who has the ability to create innovative solutions
  • Strong analysis/quantitative skills and the ability to translate analysis into actionable insights.
  • Strong technical understanding of pharmaceutical data, data design and processing and database relationships and interdependencies.
  • Ability to develop workload analysis and recommended call plans and design balanced territories using alignment/mapping software
  • Strong Access, Excel, and Power Point skills. Knowledge of (one or more of) SAS, SQL, VBA.
  • Great organizational skills and flexibility to perform under multiple deadlines.
  • Client focused, proactive and results oriented with ability to support clients across multiple locations.
