**What youll do**

Using a combination of skill, creativity, and leadership, youll help AT&T set the vision for a diverse set of future experiences and products.

Youll lead and develop a team as they conduct research that influences AT&Ts product portfolio and strategy. Youll support the delivery of key artifacts, including research readouts, journey maps, service blueprints, and experience strategies that influence business leaders and decisions. Youll support the scale of an enterprise research practice to support scale across AT&T. Youll work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our research meets product strategy needs, activities, and outcomes.


As an Associate Director UX Research (Enterprise Practice), you will:

+ Lead and support a team in the planning and design of discovery and evaluative research, particularly for strategic product initiatives.

+ Collaborate with leadership to define UX research strategy and oversee the execution of user research that supports the design and development of AT&T products.

+ Manage and mentor a team of UX researchers as they operationalize and perform user research.

+ Innovate methods for sharing insights and democratizing research; and support maintaining research on an insights repository, making research easily accessible across AT&T and fostering an evidence-based, decision-making culture.

+ Support the scale of enterprise research, including our practice, standards, communication initiatives, metrics/measures, research repository, and research maturity.

+ Direct UX researchers in the design and analysis of qualitative and quantitative studies that identify opportunities through actionable insights.

+ Work with UX, product and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize research projects.

+ Develop goals and success measures to gauge effectiveness of research studies.

+ Forecast resource needs to provide necessary capabilities and expertise in support of Design Technology business goals and objectives.

+ Share research methods and best practices to scale research performed by UX, product management, and other teams.


+ 8+ years experience performing UX research in a product strategy environment.

+ 2+ years experience leading and developing UX researchers.

+ Experience promoting an research at scale in a large corporation.

+ Expertise in qualitative and quantitative methodologies.

+ Experience and knowledge of discovery, exploratory and evaluative research methods.

+ Proven record uncovering, synthesizing, and distributing actionable insights that informed product strategy and decisions.

+ Supporting the scale and reach of an enterprise research practice, including communication, education, industry trends, practice, and standards.

+ Experience facilitating cross-functional working sessions and/or workshops with peers and stakeholders.

+ Comfortable working with agile and lean software development approaches.

+ Highly collaborative with peers, leadership, and direct reports; and, ability to effectively engage partners to overcome barriers.

+ Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

+ MS or PhD in a human behavior-related field (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Information Science) or equivalent experience.

The Design Technology studios are in Austin and Dallas, TX, but remote locations are A-OK.
