About the position:

JFF is looking for an experienced, agile, and innovative Associate Vice President (AVP) of Marketing to join us as we continue to build a marketing organization during an exciting time of growth. Reporting to the Vice President, Communications, the AVP of Marketing is a new role designed to help lead the organization forward in innovative and outcomes-driven marketing of JFFs critical products and services nationwide (i.e. Acceleration Market Scans, Corporate Advisory Services, Pathways to Prosperity, Horizons). You will also oversee a high performing marketing and communications team.

The AVP, Marketing works closely with the VP, Communications and the heads of programs, products and services to ensure JFFs offerings support the organizations unique value proposition in a crowded education and workforce ecosystem. This position will play a critical role in elevating JFFs brand, reinforce its impact and contribute to measurable growth.

The goals for our work are ambitious. JFF has embarked on an exciting, substantial, multi-year investment in its systems and operations, and is intentionally disrupting the education and workforce development market to ensure systemic change for true racial and economic equity. The AVP, Marketing will influence mission-aligned progress and serve as a key player in JFFs go-to-market approach.

What you'll do:

Strategic and Analytical Thinking

  • Build an innovative marketing function that supports the organizations strategic priorities and creates distinctive brand experiences
  • Develop a marketing plan that accentuates JFFs unique value proposition for competitive advantage and incorporates the appropriate marketing mix for success
  • Spearhead the definition and implementation of strong marketing analytics and reporting to determine the advancement of JFFs successful content marketing campaigns

Relationship Building and Management

  • Elevate and manage a unified go-to-market approach across JFF
  • Partner with IT and Development colleagues to create demand generation thats scalable
  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish discrete marketing partnerships with select and complementary corporate and non-profit entities

Team Management and Operations

  • Lead, coach, mentor and inspire a high functioning MarCom team of 5-6 direct reports
  • Optimize MarCom operations and build a product marketing function
  • Clearly define and increase digital and content marketing campaign ROI

Growth and Learning Mindset

  • Act as a change agent to create an effective marketing mindset throughout the organization
  • Lead with an outside in approach to represent the needs of JFFs primary stakeholders including funders, clients, and partners
  • Encourage a continuous learning culture across the team

Who you are:

Strategic Builder and Advisor

  • You can translate complex issues into simple language that connects with funders, partners, and clients. You place an emphasis on problem-solving and a premium on customer experience
  • You have 12-15 years of marketing experience including successful development and implementation of strategic marketing plans
  • You are customer-obsessed and mission-aligned to accommodate a demand-driven economy
  • You set ambitious KPIs and meet them

Effective Marketer

  • You understand the importance of social media and know how to use it effectively to support broader marketing goals
  • You can demonstrate proven results in product, personalized, acquisition, event, digital, and content marketing
  • You are proficient in working with marketing technology systems and tools including CRM, content management systems, SEO/SEM, among others
  • You appreciate the healthy tension between creativity and discipline, quickness and quality

Empowering Manager

  • You build positive, effective, collaborative cultures and teams wherever you work.
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills. You are as adept at developing marketing content and KPIs as you are at effectively defining and building a high performing marketing organization.
  • You can lead teams through rapid growth and change
