Automation Engineering Director
Overview The Supply Chain Automation Engineering Director will provide the Engineering leadership and direction, technical inputs and management of warehouse automation inclusive of ASRS and AGV systems including cybersecurity and controls management. This position will possess a strong technical background in digitization, automation and advanced electronics and will work closely with other Supply Chain functions including Operations, Maintenance, Quality Control, Package and Product Development, Change Management, IT and external suppliers. This position is responsible for driving standardization and serving as a technical resource to other departments within the plant. This role will also have an extremely high emphasis on Quality, Environmental Health and Safety and our People First Agenda. Responsibilities Strong Engineering and manufacturing experience managing multiple high-speed CPG projects in the areas of manufacturing, automation, cybersecurity and Smart Manufacturing. Knowledge & experience with ASRS and AGV systems is a necessity in this role. Installation, programming, commissioning, debugging, start-up of controls systems Proficient in reading electric control plans and PLC programming Design of HMI interface and programming. Knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain, Logistics and Operational Technology including digitization Knowledge of WH control system and WMS required and SAP experience preferred Automation Engineer will utilize their expertise to support, designing, building and integrating automation equipment to meet and exceed plant goals. Provide guidance and leadership on equipment specifications and standards Provide strategic insights and direction to cross functional teams on new initiatives Manage, hire and coach direct reports, exempt and non-exempt. Explore, evaluate and implement new technology and techniques to enhance and improve upon current practices Manage an annual Capital plan which addresses capacity, capability & innovation Engage with leadership to champion initiatives Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, ability and experience to influence large scale teams and to work with a diverse team of resources Strong SharePoint, Microsoft Project and Office 365 skills to develop and maintain project trackers and web hosted applications Compensation and Benefits: The expected salary range is $140,000 - $195,000 Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 25% paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period. Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering with minimum of 15 years of engineering experience in a high-speed bottling or CPG manufacturing environment. Director of Operations / Plant Management for high speed and or CPG manufacturing experience preferred. Familiarity with the automation & cyber-security space required Ability to manage complex projects and budgets Has a solid understanding of and has managed individual project CAR expenditures in excess of $10.0MM. Knowledge of operational technology, including Industrial hardware (PLCs, VFDs), Industrial software (Rockwell, Wonderware, Zarpac), Industrial Networking, Thin client Architecture and Virtualization Technology (VMWare) Knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics, WMS, WCS ASRS, AGVs and general Automated Warehouse technologies Experience in creating, enhancing, and delivering strategic processes Experience with base finance and accounting to include understanding of WACC, DCF, NPV, IRR, AWO, etc, and impacts to capital expenditure Ability to travel limited EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
