Business Analytics - Data Scientist

What You'll Do

You will be the product manager of the business analytics solutions used in the sales organization. You are responsible for delivering effective and agile analytics solutions, that help drive sales productivity in support of enabling sales growth. You identifies business needs, prioritizes features, guides the work through the program Kanban and develops the program vision and roadmap. Meanwhile, the analytics lead is expected to be the authority in machine learning with track record of improving business outcome with predictive modeling.


  • Co-lead the analytics track for APJC sales organization.
  • Engage with business partners and identify business use cases.
  • Propose agile and scalable solutions and get business alignment.
  • Build and validate machine learning predictive models.
  • Visualize the output of the data story in a way that is consumable by all.
  • Collaborate with analytics team and IT to get the solution developed and delivered.
  • Innovate and develop new analytics capabilities.

Who You'll Work With

The APJ Strategy Planning & Operations (SPO) team is responsible for business intelligence, growth identification, market and sales strategy, planning, field enablement and sales operations. We build and handles the decision-making organizational structures and forums to accelerate execution, development of strategy and business plans to identify and accelerate new growth and to develop the pathway for Ciscos business evolution. Among others, we drive initiatives from conception to execution, fostering alignment across theatres, segments and functions, seeking efficiency and consistency in management practices with the ultimate goal of accelerating Cisco's growth in APJC.

Who You Are

  • 6+ years analytics experience required; Master/PhD degree in a quantitative field is a plus
  • 3+ years experience in Sales analytics, B2B industry preferred
  • Extensive experience with statistical analysis and machine learning modeling is needed as the role will be the main ML analyst for the team
  • Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations and communicate to business partners
  • Project management experience, with strong to succeed both in a team as well as independent work environments
  • Fluency in the core toolkit of data science
  • Advanced SQL and Python/R
  • Knowledge of Tableau, JavaScript, D3.
  • Strong business insight and desire to make business impact.
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
