Our Business Development Research internship is designed to set you up to be considered for our full-Business Development opportunity upon graduation. The goal is to engage with members of AT&Ts Public Sector business development professionals where you will gain insight into AT&Ts Pursuit Management Lifecycle. Our Proposal Pursuit Lifecycle Process is based on a standard set of milestone events and supporting activities conducted in a well-defined sequence that focuses on optimizing AT&Ts likelihood of winning while also decreasing the probability of losing request for proposals (RFPs) released by the government entities (Department of Defense, National Security, Civilian, Public Safety, State, Local and Education)


As described above AT&T uses a structured lifecycle approach to maximize the Probability of Win (Pwin) for opportunities delivered through a rigorous repeatable process which minimizes bid risk. This process is made up of five components:


1. Identify and Plan

2. Analysis

3. Design

4. Implementation

5. Negotiate, Award and Prepare

The internship is designed to engage participants with client executives, capture and proposal managers, analysts and business development market leads to learn from an organization that has a history of success in pursuing and winning work across Public Sector. Thats why youll complete a 8 to 12 week spring /summer internship assignment in one of our areas of business development like Capture, Proposal Management, Market development and analysis, and more. Youll have the opportunity to take advantage of mentoring opportunities, roundtable discussions, executive speaker series, luncheons, and contribute to improving our pursuit lifecycle processes.

**Required Clearance:**


Must be a US Citizen and be able to attain government clearance


**Required Qualifications:**


+ Bachelors degree

+ Be currently pursuing a masters degree (Business Administration, Management, Information Systems) and expecting to graduate by Spring of 2023.

+ Be able to collaborate on complex issues, thrive in a leadership position, work through ambiguity and be up for an adventure.

+ AT&T will not sponsor applicants for work visas of any kind for this position.


**Desired Qualifications:**


+ Reside in the Washington DC metro area as senior leadership and primary management of program is based in Oakton, VA.

+ Industry certifications: PMP, APMP

+ Formal business development training: Shipley or equivalent

+ Prior exposure or experience in government proposals with a large defense contractor or proposal consulting firm is essential

+ Strong understanding of project and proposal management lifecycles; and Government Procurement/Capture/Proposal Management

+ Solid understanding of telecom industry as it relates to approaches for Technical, Management and Transition strategies.

+ Proven ability to create tracking dashboards and tools to track progress and status of activities

+ TS SCI with Polygraph
