Sodexo Universities is seeking **Catering Manager 2 for our long standing partnership withFort Lewis College (https://www.fortlewis.edu/life-at-flc/housing-dining/room-and-board-rates/campus-dining)** in beautiful **Durango, Colorado, a small resort town in southwestern corner of CO.** This family friendly community is ideal for enjoying outdoor culture, biking, hiking, skiing, the sky is the limit! As a small mutually supportive management team, involvement beyond catering is expected, understanding the team support will be returned with large catering events. Catering events include everything from tail-gating to high profile donor events. Our Catering Manager will be dedicated to our sustainability program and is the owner of our campus relationships with key staff and administration.
**RELOCATION is available for candidates who live more than 50 miles from the unit!**
Building relationships with clients and customers is vital to your success in this position **. A positive attitude and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and support our other dining operations on campus** during any lulls in catering **.** As the catering manager, you will be responsible for setting up catering contracts, creating menus, using CaterTrax software, and working catering events from start to finish.

+ 2 3 years catering experience, including some supervision/management oversight.

+ excellent leadership/team-building skills;
+ professional demeanor; and

**Position Summary**
Oversight of catering activities for a small to mid-size location/unit with $500k-$1M in managed catering volume. Medium complexity with a high degree of hands on involvement in catering events. Strong client interaction.
Key Duties
- Oversight of Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and use of catering programs to direct daily catering events including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
- Oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference service events. Works with client and customers to design events.
- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards in various environments. Drives the Zero Harm mindset.
- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary
- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
