Fairfax Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking aChemical Dependency Counselor. The position reports directlyto theDirector of Clinical Services and is an integral part of the clinical team.

Fairfax Health is committed to providing quality behavioral health services in Kirkland, Everett, and Monroe, Washington.Fairfax Behavioral Health operates a 157-bed, standalone psychiatric hospital, located in Kirkland, WA; composed of six units providing specialized treatment for mental health and co-occurring disorders (concurrent mental illness and substance abuse issues), as well as detoxification services for both adolescents and adults.

The Chemical Dependency Professional completes CD (ASAM) evaluation, conducts recovery-oriented group therapy and provides motivational interviewing in support of appropriate disposition planning. The CDP utilizes evidence based practice in assisting patients achieve their optimal level of mental and emotional health with a focus on substance use issues.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or clinical related mental health field and CDP Certification. Masters degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one years experience working as a Chemical Dependency Professional in a DBHR certified agency.

  • Direct clinical experience in the treatment of chemically dependent patients.

  • Minimum of one-year experience in an inpatient or residential setting.

  • Skills and experience in community relations and group presentation.

  • Prior experience in dealing effectively with courts, probation departments, and other agencies and referral sources.

  • Ability to supervise other CDPs and CDPTs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health treatment.
