What You'll Do

You will join the Managed Security product management team within Cisco Managed Services Business Unit, and you will play a key role in defining and delivering our Managed and As-a-Service product portfolios. Our offers enable partners to quickly adopt new technologies and rapidly direct their businesses globally via our ability to monitor, lead, and provide a turnkey service globally.

Our Customer Experience (CX) team is responsible for defining and driving the end-to-end customer success and technology adoption motion through the entire customer lifecycle.  As a Product Specialist supporting the Cisco Managed Security Services team you will be responsible for several areas of the managed  services offer where success is determined by the value proposition and financial pro forma realization.  

CMS value proposition is twofold, Cisco Promise, and Speed of Operations. Cisco Promise addresses why the customer bought hardware and software products and solutions from Cisco specific to the business value expected and measuring attainment. Speed of Operations are about creating a reliable and high performing IT environment that supports IT moving at the speed of business or faster.

 

Consistent with Product Management standard methodologies, youll be responsible for driving the end to end customer experience in alignment with cross-functional teams by ensuring execution and optimization of delivery, sales, and operations.

Of note, you will work directly with the product manager to understand priorities, while developing a actionable cross-functional plan to address those priorities with engineering, development, delivery, sales, customers, and partners.to deliver tangible resulting in product growth and revenue attainment.

This position is desired to be staffed in Raleigh, NC however other US-based locations will be considered and will involve some travel (mostly domestic, likely not exceed 10%).

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Understand the Managed Services product space and the high-reaching nature of the solutions, working closely with the Cisco Managed Security Product Manager and the product BU to ensure alignment of our offers.
  •  Seek to understand the market to identify the mid & long-term business opportunity
  • Understand customers, their business needs, and the overall ecosystem to define offer enhancements that will delight our customers and benefit our shareholders.
  • Translate customer needs into detailed user stories working with our Technical Engineering team and build requirements.
  • Lead cross-function teams through creating plans to ensure accountability to activities against goals and setting the pace to drive to outcomes.
  • Work within the managed security PM  team to influence decisions, and prioritize between multiple opportunities challenging to meet the market demands.
  • As part of the product management team, work closely with engineering and other delivery teams at every stage of the product development lifecycle.
  • Measure the success of our undertakings by identifying and tracking metrics.
  • Work with other CX product management teams to align and drive innovation and bold differentiation to extend product value proposition for target operators and customers.

Who You'll Work With

In this role, youll work directly with various roles in the Product Management organization across Cisco overall, and cross-functionally with CX product management, sales, business development, Cisco engineering, and other groups to help create and maintain an aligned and simplified portfolio. Externally, youll collaborate with customers and partners and their customers to use capabilities and understand business needs. You will be accountable to ensure the end-to-end execution of the product and will participate in strategic planning in coordination with the managed security portfolio strategy.

Who You Are

You are passionate about the role of product specialist. You are experienced in the delivery of managed security services. You have excellent leadership, an eye for business, and soft skills along with supporting customer experience, market knowledge, and technical skills. You can comfortably get along with senior VPs as well as engineers. Finally, you gain fulfillment from business transformation results with an entrepreneurial mindset.

What you'll need:

  •  3-7 years product management experience, ideally supporting managed security services.
  • Or
  • 5-10 years of Managed Security Service Delivery leadership with continuous advancement in the role.
  • An understanding of security technologies, on-premise and cloud solutions
  • A good understanding of handled services
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, strong problem-solving ability and a high level of dedication
  • Experienced in participating or leading cross functional projects & teams
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and demonstrated ability to make decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills, and a track record of working on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience of working closely with internal teams, sales, customers, and/or business partners
  • High-level knowledge of collaboration solutions, computer systems, wireless networks, and other popular technology.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to persuasively deliver presentations to senior executives, partners and customers.
  • The role may require some domestic travel (about 10%)
