Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian with previous clinical leadership experience for a System Clinical Nutrition Manager position at The University of Texas Medical Branch Health System in Galveston, TX.

  • The System Clinical Nutrition Manager serves in a clinical and operational leadership role for a team of 20 clinical dietitians on the Clinical Nutrition team across the 4 campuses. This high visibility role will interact with our client and represent the service on medical, nursing and interdisciplinary committees, providing operational oversight at the direction of the Sodexo Client Executive.

UTMB Healths four campuses are located in Galveston, League City, Clear Lake, and Angleton Danbury for a total of 800 licensed beds and include a Level 1 Trauma Center, Blocker Burn Unit, Level 4 NICU, pediatric specialties, transplant services, a certified comprehensive stroke center, TDCJ prison hospital and magnet recognition. Significant growth in operational beds and clinical programs is planned for all campuses.

We are seeking candidates who will actively engage our customers to strategically elevate our programs to the next level.  


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous clinical nutrition management experience in an acute care setting with a strong commitment to excellence in all aspects of patient care;
  • expertise in monitoring and evaluation of nutrition care services, accreditation and regulatory readiness and review; and establishing and maintaining standards of care;
  • the responsibility to work as part of the clinical team and play an integral role with a mission to exceed client satisfaction through the application of Sodexo programs;
  • lead and drive Performance Improvement and Quality Management projects;
  • proven experience with precepting dietetic interns and establishing a quality learning environment to support professional development for nutrition professionals;
  • the ability to be self-directed, innovative, a flexible team player with excellent time management, verbal, written communication, and project management skills;
  • prior experience with electronic medical records documentation systems and application of the Nutrition Care Process & Model.

  • Are Registered Dietitians with a minimum of 3 years of experience and Licensed as a Dietitian in the state of TX;
  • are certified as a CNSC or other Board Certification(s) preferred);
  • have a masters degree (preferred);
  • will be responsible to work closely with the Sodexo and client management teams to meet corporate,university and medical center goals and be directly involved in continuous quality improvement and implementation of new programs;

Position Summary

Functions as the in-unit lead Clinical leader for a large account, system or multiple accounts under the same contract or multiple contracts in a defined region.  Manages the daily operations of nutrition services through direct supervision of both non-exempt employees and entry-level exempt professional employees.Key Duties-Directs daily operations of nutrition programs and ensure customer and client satisfaction levels are met. -Establishes and executes operating standards, implements quality improvements, manages the budget and communicates them to other departments. -Maintains and develops client relationships and client satisfaction for nutrition services.-Promotes nutrition services and stays current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice. -Manages employees to ensure they meet goals, cost controls deadlines, and collect outcomes.-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel).-Assists in the development of new business service(s) for the client, regional or national initiatives, projects, and implements the service program(s).



Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian.Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
