What You'll Do


Cisco Global Supplier Management (GSM) team is seeking a motivated Cloud Commodity Manager Infrastructure as a Service. You will be part of a highly impactful and dynamic organization collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

 

You will:

  • Develop negotiation strategies to deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationship with Cloud service providers
  • Create and execute strategic sourcing projects that will support the teams development of an end-to-end sourcing plan globally.
  • Influence IaaS processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations by leveraging the growth of Ciscos spend.
  • Negotiate and implement supplier agreements/contracts by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions.
  • Analyze and determine cost reduction opportunities by leveraging volumes, optimizing the supplier base and reducing total cost of ownership.
  • Analyze and understand data to create accurate forecasting.
  • Adapt to a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Lead sourcing engagements and competitive bidding (RFI, RFQ, and RFP).
  • Work with GSM and business partners for the creation and continuous improvement of Cloud portfolio
  • Track internal metrics for executing projects and sourcing plans.
  • Make optimal trade-offs between schedule, resources, and scope, and apply advanced technical and business knowledge to address major risks, challenges, and obstacles.
  • Help develop long-term department strategies and significantly influence the cross-company project development and delivery processes and standards.
  • Conduct business reviews and surveys, and improve the overall partnership between Cisco and supplier
  • Keys to success in this role include sound judgment and excellent written/verbal communication skills. The candidate should be able to extract insights from data and be able to communicate clearly appropriate triggers and actions.

The Global Supplier Management (GSM) Organization is an industry leader in sourcing and supplier management that enable sustained innovation and supply chain excellence. You'll will join a very motivated team that achieves record setting results and a fun group that helps each other be successful at work and play. Our team focus is to drive innovation as well as best in class cost, quality and delivery; in order to accomplish this you will work very closely with constituents across Supply Base, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing and Legal.

You possess a combination of business experience, and strong interpersonal communication and relationship management skills, arent intimidated by titles and can work with people toward a shared goal.

 

You'll use your ability to influence, both inside and outside Cisco, to make sure we execute our strategy. Your top negotiation skills are used daily so that Cisco is competitive in the marketplace and our customers love our products.


Minimum requirements for this role:

  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering and etc.; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years working with AWS or any cloud service provider
  • Demonstrated performance in prior role(s), with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud and services offered by the cloud service providers
  • Excellent skills in supplier management, and contracts review and management
  • Ability to develop and execute short, mid, and long term strategies
  • Expertise in building strong relationships internally and externally, and conflict resolution
  • Adept at influencing decisions and developing solutions to complex business situations
  • Strong experience with collaboration, communications, negotiations, facilitation and change management
  • Ability to work across boundaries, earning trust, taking risk and being inclusive is highly valued

Location is open. Can be based anywhere in the US.
