Cloud Native Evangelist
What You'll Do
We are looking for a Lead Evangelist with a passion for cloud-native software to drive open source strategy to promote security and compliance best practices for the community. The successful candidate will serve as an influential technical ambassador to the Kubernetes community with the goal of gaining a following of end users who champion Kubernetes-native security and the Cisco KubeSec solution.
Who You'll Work With
The Emerging Technologies and Incubation (ET&I) team is a highly visible group which reports directly to Ciscos CEO. ET&I focuses on the next wave of innovation by anticipating, investing in, and incubating new technologies and business ventures.
You will be part of the Incubation team, to develop new solutions, and bring them to market in a startup like environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical marketing content plans and execution including development of high-impact messaging, content in various forms such as technical demos, technology blog posts, industry thought leadership articles, podcasts, or others
- Drive open source efforts in collaboration with R&D leaders
- Establish recognition within the Kubernetes community as a top expert on Kubernetes security
- Provide influential thought leadership to Kubernetes end users that shape their approach to topics that include, but are not limited to, security, operations, and management
- Engage with key stakeholders within the community including the CNCF Governing Board and Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) as well as leaders of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to influence key community decisions
- Speak at Tier 1 industry events such as KubeCon
- Act as a subject matter expert on key trends and technologies that are shaping the direction of the cloud-native ecosystem
Who You Are
- 8+ years of experience, including 3+ years of experience in developer advocacy or evangelism, software engineering, or equivalent
- Substantial hands-on experience with container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies, tooling and/or cloud platforms (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure)
- Interest in DevSecOps, security engineering and methodologies
- Demonstrated track record of open source contributions, community engagement, public speaking, and authored content
- Well-recognized profile within the Kubernetes community and CNCF ecosystem
- Previous experience leading or participating in open source decision making
- Successful track record in influencing adoption of new technologies and/or products
- Knowledge of security engineering, architectures and/or tooling
