JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES

40% weight in overall rating

1. Accurately codes inpatient diagnosis and procedures according to ICD-10-CM/PCS.

2. Utilizes problem resolution skills to oversee the daily activities of the coding to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.

3. Ensures compliance and optimization of all ICD10-CM/PCS, CPT and APC coding of diagnosis and procedure assignments.

4. Maintains coding productivity standards to accomplish meeting local and corporate goals while adhering to coding guidelines and optimizing on coding system tools.

5. Works closely with coding management, CDI, case management, BOS to address any coding questions, reviews or follow-ups required and/or educational opportunities.

6. Attends meetings, workshops, seminars and teleconferences that pertain to position responsibilities.

Job Requirements

:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Three to Five years inpatient coding experience required.

Advanced training in medical coding (ICD10-CM/PCS, CPT and APC).

Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology required.

Computer skills.

Ability to read medical reports, interpret lab valuespertinent to coding diagnoses, abstract pertinent

information from records and to provide meaningful information by telephone or letter in replying to

inquiries.

Ability to work remotely. Must be able to provide high speed internet at place of residence at the expense of the employee, with a work area that is in adherence to privacy and security policies and procedures.

Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHSs Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

RHIT, RHIA or CCS.

Able to travel between facilities.

High School or GED required.College preferred.
