Job Overview
Position Schedule: Full-Time
Branch Real Estate ("BRE") Person with primary oversight of all aspects of the Construction Management Service Line.
Provide guidance and set targets for all areas of construction (primarily tenant finish out of office and retail spaces) at our branches throughout North America.
Responsibility Summary:
- Developing, communicating, and driving the vision, strategy, performance, and results of all aspects of branch construction, primarily leadership of people, with potential direct leadership of associates as we undergo a growth transformation to our department. This includes providing regular leadership guidance to a large team of BRE service provider partners.
- Working with people in BRE to set division-wide and department goals, as well as overseeing and partnering on major projects both within the department and across the firm.
- Prepare, summarize, and present reports and analyses.
- Identify trends and present recommendations to senior leadership within BRE and/or across the firm in order to influence decision making.
- Ability to research technical topics to figure out, recommend, and implement the appropriate action to be taken.
- Balance team priorities and remove any obstacles to ensure associates are focused on key activities that meet critical business needs.
- Proactively work to impact current and future business results and outcomes.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are developed, implemented, documented, and followed.
- Build, maintain, and leverage relationships to gather critical information and influence key outcomes.
- Help BRE Divisional Department Heads and Team Managers as they establish strategic partnerships with key managers in the field in support of their real estate needs. This involves communication and coordination both within and outside the organization, including at the executive level. Ensure that construction management efforts will allow them to reach their goals.
- Communicate key concepts to senior management clearly, both in written and oral form, in order to effectively influence critical outcomes.
- Demonstrate the ability to review, comprehend, and leverage complex financial and/or operational data.
- Continually evaluate and improve processes and controls related to the department's, division's, and firm's business cycles.
- Leverage internal and external relationships to ensure teams' deliverables are in compliance with construction and real estate industry best practices and conform to regulatory requirements while staying current with corporate real estate industry trends.
- Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to people and associates as they manage multiple projects and people concurrently.
- Cultivate a high-performing, high-energy culture to maximize your own and each associate's or leader's contribution.
- Manage cross functional teams accountable for implementing BRE and firm wide business priorities and projects.
- Foster an environment of development for associates and people within your span of influence and hold them accountable to achieve their desired development goals.

Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, ideally in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields. Advanced degree or certification preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of related work experience is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- This person is accountable for the management of a broad area and needs to have a depth of knowledge of methods and practices of all major aspects of Corporate Real Estate Construction Management including a solid working knowledge of related areas such as design, transaction management, project management, lease administration, operations, technology, etc.
- Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures. Solid working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting. Skilled level proficiency at creating scopes, schedules, budgets, and processes related to corporate real estate construction projects.
- Proven knowledge of corporate real estate designs and ability to work closely and partner with internal and Service Partner Branch Design Leaders and associates
- Previous managerial/leadership experience.
- Intermediate / advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, or other productivity software suites.
- Knowledge of other software programs and / or specific skills such as project management may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
- Membership in corporate/commercial real estate industry organization(s) is preferred, but not required. This person will be expected to stay current in the industry and to bring construction management best practices to the team.
- Assess contracts with selected existing vendors and negotiate contracts with new vendors. Partner with service provider leadership to review and evaluate performance of account vendors under their supervision.
- Occasional travel will be required
