The realization of PepsiCos north star vision of Consumer Centricity is inseparable from our ability to generate, capture, manage, and monetize our 1st Party/Consumer data. This is a highly complex and multi-dimensional challenge as it touches nearly all of our external communication channels, from Media and Advertising, Consumer Promotions and Trade, to eCommerce and Consumer Relations. It is also a Global challenge, as we engage in such activities in virtually all markets where PepsiCo operates. Future health and vitality of our 1st Party Consumer data are paramount to fuel our roadmap and power many data and digital products, and it is and will be critical as PepsiCo progresses along our Digital Transformation journey. The stakes are even higher as world-class execution of this vision requires a balance between risk and reward, given the evolving global themes around increased privacy regulations and associated penalties through non-compliance.

A PepsiCo 1st Party/Consumer Strategy leader will simultaneously own the optimal sequencing of work around the design of vision, foster internal alignment, validate and mature privacy policies, support execution of acquisition programs, and implement cross-functional processes to both serve the immediate needs of our business units while building a path for PepsiCos future leadership in the Consumer arena.

This leader will be a visionary integrator and a frontline champion of our Consumer-centric vision through the lens of Digital and Data & Analytics and will function as the link between Media, Marketing, eCom, Sales, Consumer Relations, Supply Chain, Sustainability, R&D, Legal, InfoSec, IT, as well as our external partners and vendors.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead 1st Party/Consumer Data strategy and associated organizational throughput to consolidate, improve, and manage our consumer data assets
  • Establish and execute a 1st Party/Consumer data lifecycle process roadmap through highly complex and matrix organizational precision focus and priorities for the Global/Local Data & Analytics functions
  • Build, deploy and oversee a strategy to enable the improvement and efficiency of both the 1st Party/Consumer data management teams
  • Leads cross-section data strategy discussions, develops data strategy roadmaps in conjunction with the other teams in PepsiCo D+A and related functions (e.g. DX, eCom and Consumer Relations)
  • Communicate our Consumer data strategy with stakeholders internal and external to the D&A and track progress towards key milestones; share and communicate in the standing Data Forums and Councils, including the PepsiCo Executive Committee (PEC)
  • Partner with business leaders to put together dynamic teams and plans in place to solve the data challenges and future aspirations for 1st Party/Consumer data
  • Provide strategic guidance on processes and tools, ensuring 1st Party/Consumer data capture and availability, and partnering with our technical organizations to build out the new broader Global Data Function, its capabilities and connection to other parts of the Enterprise
  • Collaborate with the VP of Data Products and Services Management to ensure products within the Data + Analytics and broader PepsiCos portfolio are maximized, value-add and have scaling plans
  • Develop and define policies relating to storing and structuring data for the business units, collaborate with other functions in D&A, S&T and IT to ensure support for work on scaling solutions proposed by the organization
  • Be the lead expert for the organization around 1st Party/Consumer data policies, data governance, data management, data processing, and data quality standards
  • Accountable, working through Responsible teams, for key operational initiatives for the organization as related to 1st Party/Consumer Data, such as data governance and master data management, functional data management and transactional data management
  • Contribute to the knowledge management capability of the entire group around 1st Party/Consumer data, ensuring appropriate documentation and key frameworks/approaches are shared and available for fast leverage
  • Team development and leadership


  • Minimum of 12 years in a leadership role with at least eight years experience in general management, strategy, data management, product management, and/or monetization roles with a track record of driving business outcomes by identifying and operationalizing data in a B2C/DTC organization, directly or as a service provider
  • Strong leadership experience building out, articulating, and delivering on business cases around data use and/or a data-centric business strategy
  • Solid exposure to big data
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate data strategies and programs across multiple functions. Strong experience effectively influencing at all levels of the organization
  • Must possess strong analytical, strategic, project management, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelors Degree required; MBA/Graduate degree preferred
