Job Description

Position location is our NYC Design Center yet will require ability and willingness to commute to the Purchase headquarters on a weekly basis.

This role is a part of the PepsiCo Global Insights team and will be responsible for leveraging marketplace curiosity to guide breakthrough innovation platforms. The role requires the design and execution of insight-led learning plans to drive human-centric empathy and intimate cultural understanding. This role is a crucial first step in facilitating agile concept and prototyping workstreams that support a culture of experimentation and entrepreneurialism across the organization.

Responsible for designing, executing, and delivering global insight studies to uncover investigating the consumer needs & jobs to be done that will guide Design Thinking led solutions
  • Representing the consumer in all workstreams: Driving empathy-first approaches during the ideation and idea refinement stages by creating close working partnerships with designers and engineers
  • Develop resight documents from multiple thick & big data streams in support of senior leadership meetings
  • Partner closely with marketing, commercialization, strategy and finance to drive RWOW as central to the Front End Innovation agenda
  • Conduct regular consumer & trend immersions by leading the development of research briefs, collaborating with research partners on inventive and inspiring experiences and ensuring those learnings are vividly driving live workstreams
  • Taking frequent initiative in discovering and curating consumer and category trends into strategic implications and creative inspiration designed to push traditional thinking
  • Build strong, two-way relationships with insight category leads, ensuring a truly collaborative approach to foundational insights, innovation, analytics and tracking
  • Become a champion of Global Insight team capabilities: ensuring internal capabilities are being constantly maximized and improved
  • Provide key insights and execution guardrails as part of Purposeful Positioning development & launch communication strategies for new initiatives
  • Travel - must be willing to travel up to 15%


  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum 10 years in insights, planning, client-side innovation roles and/or marketing & innovation consultant roles
  • Experience in custom qualitative and quantitative consumer research (50/50 balance of qual & quant experience)
    • 5+ years of experience in the qualitative exploration of JTBD/use case development
    • 5+ years of experience in brand and product concept writing
    • 5+ years of experience in design research & design thinking
  • Bonus criteria:
    • 5+ years of experience of co-facilitating & designing creative thinking workshops
    • Works closely with designers, brand creatives and/or product engineers
    • Can operate in a global matrixed organization with a cross-functional team
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States

  • Well-versed in research methodologies and possess the ability to apply insights to address business challenges
  • Culturally curious & passionate about behavioral sciences must have a global mindset, ravenous appetite for trends, culture and human behavior
  • Creative problem solver with a highly organized approach to managing complexity an out-of-the-box thinker, able to think creatively & holistically, must be comfortable with high levels of complexity and open-ended questions
  • Storytelling a clear communicator, who can deliver findings in an engaging, fresh and impactful manner, cutting through the complexity to tell a simple, compelling narrative
  • Analytical horsepower able to cut to the core of issues efficiently, merge multiple data sources and develop multiple solutions to complex business problems
  • Reliable multi-tasking strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously & ability to adapt to change
  • Strong initiative and results orientation, with a positive and pragmatic attitude to adversity
