This is where you come in:
We are looking for a full-time Content Strategist in our New York City office that will be dedicated to telling the story of how PepsiCo Design & Innovation teams are solving real problems, for real people in the real world through our award-winning work, design-led business integration and thought leadership in the design and marketing communities.

These stories are told across all of our owned channelsnamely Instagram, design.pepsico.com, our podcast In Your Shoes, our annual design books and the occasionally paid media ad. In your role, youll be responsible for keeping a finger on the pulse of all initiatives the Global Design Teams are launching by developing strong relationships with each teams leaders, then partnering with them to craft design and innovation stories in unique and compelling ways to Designs core audiencesthose seeking design careers, marketing leaders, and influencers in the industry. Our primary goal is to showcase our best-in-class creative work, but in doing so, want to elevate the topics of innovation, diversity in design, sustainability, human-centred design and best practices for integrating an in-house team within a corporation.

Youll partner day-to-day with a dedicated project manager and copywriter responsible for writing all of our Instagram posts, website case studies, podcast interview questions and promotional materials. You will partner with designers regularly as well to develop all content.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Youll the Design Center's overarching content and channel strategy, overseeing one master content calendar to identify cross-promotional opportunities across all channels and ultimately further the Design Center's place as a thought leader in the design community, especially around innovation, diversity in design, sustainability, human-centred design and integrating an in-house team within a corporation.
  2. Ensuring the PepsiCo Design & Innovations voice and tone is consistent and our message aligns with PepsiCos communication goals across all channels.
  3. Responsible for reaching goals for increasing followers, viewership and attaining top talent for Design Center.
  4. Identifying and develop channel strategy for new channels beyond IG, web, podcast to reach our audiences.
  5. Pull performance metrics reports for all channels and adjust the strategy accordingly.
  6. Create a bimonthly shareout for Mauro Porcini of channel performance and recommendations on adjusting our strategy based on performance
  7. Podcast:
    1. Youll have the opportunity to partner directly with PepsiCos Chief Design Officer, Mauro Porcini, on these initiatives, especially the production of our podcast in which Mauro is the host. Hell look to you for guidance on interview candidates in the design community, the posting cadence and execution, and developing and overseeing the execution of the promotional plan for the podcast.
    2. Direct copywriters and designers in the creative development of promotional assets
    3. Identify opportunities for broadening our audience.
  8. Website
    1. Develop a strategy for design dialogue content, gather all press articles to publish, and identify partners on the team to create content.
    2. Direct creation of case studies with a copywriter and designer to tell compelling design stories
    3. Analyze analytics periodically to identify successful tactics and adjust strategy accordingly
  9. Instagram
    1. Direct creation of posts and stories, providing guidance and feedback to copywriters and designers on content
    2. Develop a strategy to test and learn new content types beyond project and podcast posts, then oversee the creation of posts
    3. Identify new opportunities based on IG best practices
  10. Award Submissions
    1. Manage the award submission process, identifying the projects we should submit and the award programs we should be applying for. Work with the design team and copywriter to develop the story and meet award submission requirements.
  11. Design Center Book
    1. Work with Mauro to identify the overarching themes within the Design Center's yearly book creation and direct the copywriting to ghostwrite Mauros introduction.
If you have solid agency experience (PR, Marketing or Advertising), where youve led workstreams across multiple arrays of projects and timelines or have been an individual contributor to the digital efforts of a team, often thought of as the single-source for digital/social strategy solutions within the business this is your role!

Qualifications/Requirements

  • B.A. in Communications, Strategy, Journalism, Advertising, Creative Writing, or English, or pretty much any equivalent in education and experience
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Highly refined writing and editing skills, including awesome grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills are a plus
  • Content and messaging strategy experience, especially for social media, podcasts and web
  • Experience developing a paid media plan a plus, but at least comfortable guiding the paid media plan strategy and goals
  • Active on social media a plus, but a must to have a strong grasp of the functionality of various platforms
  • Proficient with Mac computers, Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite would be a plus
  • Experience partnering with designers
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in order to communicate ideas and present concepts
  • Ability to solve problems strategically
  • Ability to work on multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to create, track and manage timelines effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and responsibilities by effectively scheduling and prioritizing
  • Ability to look for new ideas and approaches to problem-solving and contribute to continuous improvement of our process
Work Experience:
  • 7-10 years of strategy, editor, professional writing, or equivalent experience preferred
