What You'll Do

Always wanted to be part of a global, smart legal team continuously on the edge of enabling technological innovation?

We are looking for a committed, creative, entrepreneurial Junior Legal Counsel to join us as a trusted legal advisor supporting Cisco's business in Germany.

Your Role and Responsibilities will include:

  • Review and approve standard and non-standard Statements of Work (SOWs) for Customers;
  • Advise and assist the Services Sales teams during SOW negotiation with Customers;
  • Drafting and negotiating other commercial agreements (e.g. sales agreements, pricing letters, non-disclosure agreements, software licensing, cloud agreements, software-as-a-service agreements, IP and DP agreements and services agreements) in line with Ciscos business strategy, policies and practices;
  • Helping structure sales transactions/agreements following legal risk assessments;
  • Assisting with, coordinating, and finalizing sales negotiations;
  • Responding to RFP/RFI/RFQs;
  • Consistently applying Cisco legal and business policies and practices to maintain the highest standards of corporate governance;
  • Helping develop and deliver presentations/legal trainings; and
  • Supporting subject-matter experts on cross-functional projects.

Who You Are

Your Minimum Qualifications:

  • German legally qualified;
  • At least 2 years of commercial and corporate law experience obtained at a top law firm, or multi-national legal department;
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English and German are needed; fluency in other European/African/Middle Eastern languages will be considered a plus; and
  • Willingness to travel, as required by the business.

Your Professional Experience

  • Supporting a multi-jurisdictional region in Europe;
  • Understanding of and preferably experience with technology contract issues including intellectual property, software licensing, outsourcing, managed services, cloud agreements, software-as-a-service agreements, data protection and security, export-import regulations and complex negotiations;
  • Handling competition and antitrust legal issues;
  • Familiarity with technology product sales go-to-market models, distribution agreements, re-sale agreements, and services sales;

  • You have excellent drafting skills including an eagle-eye for detail and a creative outlook;
  • You are committed to supporting to help finalize dynamic complex sales agreements against demanding deadlines and processes;
  • You are an enabler with a can-do, pro-active, and flexible attitude guided by sound judgement;
  • You have a growth mindset;
  • You are a global teammate and know how to apply a global-mindset to your work;
  • You are able to concisely and persuasively express and convey ideas both in writing and verbally;
  • You have a good knowledge of revenue recognition policies and requirements;
  • You bring well-developed organizational skills for smooth simultaneous management of multiple projects;
  • Ability to operate efficiently in a highly-automated environment heavily dependent on e-enabled tools and communications systems; and
  • Having an open, ethical mind and a sense of humor J
