The UHS HTM Senior Medical Systems Engineering Technologist (Senior MSET) performs evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on devices used in the care and treatment of patients at UHS facilities, affiliates, and other institutions that have relationships either owned or contractual. Supervises staff. Participates on EOC Committee. Manages projects. Focuses his or her performance to ensure that all patients receive the safest and best possible experience while at the facilities serviced by the UHS HTM Program. Works independently with minimal supervision. Delivers exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators and all persons who are contacted during the course of their service. Delivers service that meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements and compliance for the position held. Assists UHS HTM leadership with developing and strengthening facility and vendor relationships. Responsible for executing and meeting all requirements of the established key performance indicators (KPIs).

Job Requirements

Senior MSET (Imaging Specialist) Technical Service Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for one or more of the following devices: general X-ray, CT, MRI, cath lab, digital X-ray, gamma camera, bone density, ultrasound, mammography, mobile X-ray and CR system.

  • (2) to five (5) years of experience in the CT or MRI modality required

  • Performs scheduled maintenance and operation verification procedures on complex medical imaging equipment

  • Repairs, installs and calibrates complex medical imaging equipment devices and systems

  • Informs managers of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations and any customer concerns

  • Performs periodic inspections of current inventory status and maintains inventory of common failure parts to ensure equipment uptime

  • Works with, directs and documents the activities of subcontractors, vendors and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery

  • Leads Service Operations special projects as assigned and contributes to the development of others through mentoring and sharing expertise

  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include the inventory, performance maintenance (PM) schedules, nomenclature and service history

  • Adheres to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures

  • Responsible for ensuring all service documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner

  • Works with Physicist on accurate and aligned radiation outputs to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety
