Sodexo is seeking a Culinary Instructor 2 for a Governement Services account located in Washington, DC.  This position provides culinary instruction to 5 - 30 students ranging in age from 16 - 25.


Stong documentation skills needed to record daily\\weekly progress for all students

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

Position Summary

Provides instruction to students in culinary arts skills to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Key Duties- Provides training to students on culinary skills, food preparation and operations to ensure account retention and fulfillment of contractual obligations.  Plans training, including defining objectives, methods, and timetables to support lesson plan.- Accountable for the delivery of the highest level of quality instruction.  Provides specific and meaningful feedback to students pertaining to strong and substandard performance.   Manages other culinary instructors and frontline Sodexo employees.- Ensures students demonstrate an active customer hospitality orientation towards clients and have appropriate licenses and certifications, equipment, inventory and resources to meet learning objectives.- Stays current with industry knowledge and trends and provides learning opportunities for students. - Establishes a safe work environment for students by enforcing and providing training on safety, equipment maintenance and personal protective equipment requirements. Driving the Zero Harm mindset.  


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experienceBasic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
