At IBM, Technical Solution Architects work to understand needs and then create complex high-quality solutions that make meaningful impact. Youll be responsible for overall leadership and delivery of the solutions from requirement gathering through implementation. Youll use your in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technologies along with industry and business skills to influence outcomes.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As an IBM Security Architect, you assume overall technical leadership and responsibility for
designing solutions that leverage the capabilities of the IBM Security portfolio and drive
software and SaaS sales revenue. Architects provide leadership of technical activities during the
sales cycle, set a vision for customers, lead requirements gathering and analysis, design
solutions, facilitate demos & presentations and work as an integral part of a sales team to drive
customer success.

This is a senior technical sales leadership position. It is a customer facing role and the
candidate must be comfortable and confident working with Client Line of Business Executives
and be able to work effectively in a collaborative role with IBM sales teams and business

Skills Needed:

Architecture methodologies and tools - able to apply architectural thinking plus some
familiarity with methods and tools utilized in solution design, risk assessment, etc.

Information Security Management Principles Deep understanding of Cyber Security technologies and experience in developing a Cyber Security Architecture for customers in many industries. A fundamental understanding of ISM Principles, a good understanding of Incident Response, Disaster Recovery, Access Controls, Authentication, Audit, Governance, Risk Management, Security Architecture, Cryptography,
Systems Development and Business Continuity.

IT Systems - A fundamental understanding of IT Systems and Services covering Virtualization,
Mainframes, Cloud Services, Hosting Services, Desktop, etc.
Systems Development - A fundamental understanding of IT Systems Development .

Networking Technologies - An understanding of the fundamentals of IT networking
technologies, the basic building blocks used and how they support a secure architecture.
Additional required skills include: Ability to present material and clearly communicate between
executives and technical staff; Experience developing customer proposals, technical
presentations, and architecture diagrams; Experience working in a Sales Support/Consulting
position and solution selling; Ability to lead teams.

Key responsibilities:
Position IBM value through architecture discussions and workshops
Conduct Security Value assessment, prepare reports and present findings and recommendations
Set the technical strategy for sales opportunities
Lead requirements gathering and analysis
Design Security Solutions using IBM Security Capabilities
Client Facing Presentations & Whiteboard discussions
Work as an integral part of a sales team
Own key Executive relationships
Drive customer success in Security

**Note: the successful candidate must work from one of our QC offices on a regular basis**

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Must be Bilingual in French and English
  • Reside in the Quebec Region
  • CISSP or Security Designation a definite asset
  • Understanding of IBM Technologies an asset
  • Very high technical competency
  • Work well in Team environments
  • Like problem solving and architecting solutions
  • Leader with great presentation skills
