*Data Governance Analyst*

We are expanding our team to support the Edward Jones Enterprise Data Governance capability within the firms Information Data Management program. The data governance vision is to ensure data is consistently structured, organized, and maintained to support firm decisions we make and how we help our clients.

This role will be a change agent to advance and mature our firm's data governance capabilities, support the development of our ability to actively govern data, build consensus on data definitions and rules, and train the firm on data governance methods

*Key Responsibilities:*

* Facilitate the success of the firm's Enterprise Data Governance Committee through educating committee members and contributing to working groups directed by the committee to solve complex problems
* Identify and research comprehensive data standards and policies, including data governance and financial services industry best practices
* Support the development of data standards and policies, as well as methods to evaluate the adherence of those standards and policies
* Organize the firm's data challenges, unresolved escalations, and appeals/amendments to existing data standards and policies, facilitating Enterprise Data Governance Committee ability to work through these problems
* Facilitate collaboration and cross-functional partnerships in the data stewardship community in order to solve the firm's most pressing data governance challenges
* Develop and manage practices to help the stewardship community with standards and policies reviews and enforcement
* Define key performance indicators to monitor and track the effectiveness and impact of data standards and policies
* Support our change management, communication, training, and education initiatives that advance the firm's data and analytics abilities and maturity

*Position Qualifications:*

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
* 5+ years of experience preferably in roles related to data governance, data management, and/or data analytics. Relevant business/data analyst, operations, or audit experience will be considered.
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to create detailed policy documentation and then communicate key policy concepts clearly to leadership
* Preference to candidates with knowledge of data governance best practices and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets.
* Demonstrated experience in bringing together diverse groups of stakeholders to solve complex business problems
* Financial services industry experience desired. Asset management or broker-dealer industry experience a plus
* Ability to influence without authority
* Problem solving, decision-making, and strategic thinking
* Comfortable working through ambiguous situations to define precise requirements and priorities and drive actionable outcomes
* Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to deadlines
