The Senior Manager, Data Science is part of the forward-thinking Workforce Planning & Advanced Analytics Center-of-Excellence at PepsiCo's World Headquarters in Purchase, NY. Our team collaborates with all levels of the organization from our executives to people in our worldwide network of professional, sales, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. You will be responsible for leading other technical talent in applying new approaches and technologies to solving business problems and presenting insights from ground-breaking statistical models of complex human resources and business challenges to colleagues throughout the company.

Responsibilities of this role include:
  • Leading technical project teams and coaching them to develop broad analytics skills, including improving their AI abilities
  • Developing new and continuously striving to improve existing predictive models and advanced statistical analyses for business problems
  • Helping partners understand key insights and developing action plans to address them through effective communication and persuasion
  • Inventing experiments, in partnership with your team, to understand human behavior and value different intervention options
  • Building an analytics culture by collaborating with other analytics authorities across the organization, introducing new technologies and approaches, creating a robust set of analytics tools
  • Building and using large-scale datasets for statistical analysis using software (e.g., R, SPSS, Python, SQL, Teradata, Azure, Hadoop, Access, Excel)
  • Influencing other human resources and information technology experts on future data and technology needs
  • Coordinating with external consultants on projects, as required


Education and Work Experience:
  • Advanced degree in an applied quantitative or social science discipline, such as Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Statistics, I/O Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Mathematics, Sociology/Demography or Cultural Anthropology with an emphasis on use of advanced technologies and empirical research
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in building multi-variate statistical modeling for business use, through applying AI and approaches like linear and logistic regression
  • Knowledge of and experience applying AI and machine/deep learning towards topics like prediction modeling, text analytics, sentiment analysis, and/or path analysis
  • Strong experience managing data acquisition and organization, as required to build statistical models
  • Strong project management experience (in the analytics arena, preferred)
  • Proficiency in at least one coding or statistical software package (e.g., Java, Python, C++, R, SPSS, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, SQL, etc.)
  • Experience with one of Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, as well as, Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint

  • Willing to experiment with different approaches and capable of applying new insights in creative ways to answer business and talent questions
  • High attention to detail self-monitors all work to ensure accuracy and completeness
