!*!TITLE: Director, Actuary (Long Term Care Projection Director) (The Prudential Insurance Company of America)

LOCATION: Roseland, NJ

DUTIES: Responsible for performing and overseeing quarterly and other periodic financial reporting, including Loss Recognition testing (LRT), Premium Deficiency Reserve (PDR) testing, underwriting and capital forecast, Asset Adequacy Testing (AAT) liability projections, and other reporting and adhoc requests related to Long Term Care (LTC) projections. Validate and maintain actuarial models, including the updates for new assumptions and regulatory requirements, regression testing, and coordination with vendors for projection software upgrade. Provides support for Project Springboard actuarial model system conversion to a first principles model. Perform and oversee routine documentation updates and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Support the routine experience studies and assumption updates. Support external requests, including valuation, pricing, auditing, and finance. Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical matters to a variety of business partners. The Prudential Insurance Company of America is EOE.



Qualifications
@!*!REQTS: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the position offered or as a Director, Actuary, Associate Actuary, Assistant Actuary, Senior Actuarial Analyst, or a related position. Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with all of the following: modeling actuarial liabilities; Excel and VBA or other programming language; Long Term Care (LTC), life insurance, annuities or Long-Term Disability (LTD) products; model management including operating with actuarial calculation models, reviewing model process and model outputs, and maintaining related documentation; and actuarial software systems such as Polysystems. In addition, must have at least three (3) years of experience with all of the following: database software such as Access or SQL; actuarial valuation including GAAP and Statutory frameworks; liability assumptions setting, updating, analyzing or reviewing; analyzing or reporting financial results; and working with internal and external auditors. Must have Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation.

HOURS: Full time; Mon- Fri (37.5 hrs/week)
