The Modeling function within the Actuarial Enterprise Capabilities group is responsible for the governance, development, and testing of valuation and projections models within the Domestic lines of Prudential businesses. Within the Modeling function, the Enterprise GAAP team leads the implementation of Enterprise GAAP capabilities.
This position within the Enterprise GAAP team will support GAAP initiatives to achieve fully-automated GAAP Valuation process including forecasting processes and robust analytics. The successful candidate will collaborate with other Modeling teams, Business Unit actuaries, Enterprise and Business Unit Valuation teams, Actuarial & Finance Technology, and Finance. This opportunity combines core actuarial skills with finance and technology to empower faster and more insightful analysis to drive key decisions and business strategy.


Primary Responsibilities:
 Partner with valuation and modeling leads across the organization to execute the FASB Targeted Improvements implementation, the end-to-end design of GAAP modeling processes within a common framework and infrastructure across business units.
 Understand product, legal entity, and enterprise GAAP reporting needs to simplify consolidation and reporting.
 Conceive, design, and implement new analytics capabilities to better explain the complex dynamics of Actuarial reporting results, including design of Source of Earnings exhibits, KRI reporting as well as advanced reporting analytics.
 Prioritize and coordinate with Modeling & Valuation leads to resolve global and local modeling implementation issues, documenting how decisions are made to ensure consistency and integrity.
 Ensure model readiness for Restatement and Go-Live FASB TI implementations, addressing and/or escalating any modeling issues, and assisting with the documentation of traceability from GAAP policy through model implementation.
 Evaluate designs and encourage consistency with the broader architecture strategy.


 Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
 Minimum of 5 years of related work experience; broad Actuarial knowledge of products and valuation methodology
 Excellent written and oral communication skills
 Strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills, working as part of a team with multiple stakeholders
 Knowledge of balance sheet and income statement accounting (STAT & GAAP), results analysis, and financial reporting
 Demonstrated effectiveness collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, agile environment
