ADP is searching for a Director, Application Development to join our high-performance team for Insurance Services.

The successful candidate will have a strong application development background, is a hands-on engineer with a command of detailed design, development, and troubleshooting applications, understanding of DevOps best practices, code build & deployment, incident response, monitoring & support.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Software Developers to implement sustainable and scalable solutions with goals of improving availability, performance, and security of products, used by ADP's Insurance clients and Service Associates.
  • Partner with Business Stakeholders and Architects to understand feature requirements, KPIs and derive detailed design to drive feature development and rollout.
  • Prioritize new feature development and production support within the assigned Scrum teams to ensure deliverables are met and SLAs are adhered to.
  • Understand and explain incident situations, recovery plans to prevent recurrence, working in collaboration with Tech Leads during and after the incident & summarize complex technical issues into concise recaps for ADP associates and client leaders.
  • Assume an advisory role to ensure emergency changes adhere to a defined policy.
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders both in and outside of ADP.
Qualifications:
  • Technical expertise & experience: Websphere, JAVA (JDK 1.8), Oracle 19C, ICP (Kubernetes), Kafka, Object Storage, Angular and React.
    Exposure with Cloud Services, exposure to application analytics tools such as Splunk, Google Analytics/Pendo.
  • ADP Experience and/or Insurance Brokerage experience highly desired.
  • Requires expert level knowledge and leadership experience: Participates with other senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures effective achievement of objectives. Solves complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company. Participates in development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. Ensures budgets and schedules meet requirements.
  • Education: Requires BS or equivalent in education and experience. Masters degree preferred.
  • Related Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 10+ years Application Development, with a minimum of 3-4 years in leadership roles.
  • Functional Knowledge: Requires mastery level knowledge of infrastructure and software engineering, agile methodology, and program/portfolio management. Mastery understanding of cloud software, infrastructure, integration and operational ecosystems and product knowledge.
  • Leadership: Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership. Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area overseeing activities for multiple teams. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
