The Director of Account Management is a player/coach role that is responsible for the overall growth, retention, customer satisfaction, and strategic planning of current accounts in addition to coaching of current staff. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, data mining and analytical skills, management experience and the ability to build solid relationships with key decision makers of each client.

The Director of Account Management must be a self-starter, a high-performing individual; possess comprehensive understanding of the broader health care system; ability to work across departments to achieve success; has positive and respected internal and external relationships and uses knowledge, teamwork and organizational skills to achieve desired objectives; exhibits ability to assist staff in managing client expectations based on OptumRx capabilities and looks for up sell/growth opportunities with the client; manages profit/loss of assigned accounts; takes accountability for individual and department objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with clients and account management staff to uncover business needs and objectives, craft appropriate strategies, and identifies/implements products to help achieve client goals.
  • ""
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions and customer value.
  • ""
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of value proposition, product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies.
  • ""
  • Communicate our products value and the business insights you gain through analysis to our customers and internal stakeholders.
  • ""
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • ""
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
  • ""
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue.
  • ""
  • Use strong industry knowledge to add value to the clients operation and look for up sell opportunities.
  • ""
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of clients business as it pertains to satisfaction, growth and potential issues.
  • ""
  • Provide leadership and coaching for staff by creating and interpreting effective analysis to support customer recommendations.
  • ""
  • Provide regular communication to Sr. Director of Account Management and VP of Account Management on the State of the Union for all clients in addition to strategic partners.
  • ""
  • Oversee documentation of all client-related activities using SalesForce.com
  • ""
  • Review all client business plan; including Profit/Loss management to build trust, credibility, and client referrals.
  • ""
  • Assist staff with contract renewals negotiations.
  • ""
  • Attend periodic reviews with client and recommend new products/services as appropriate.
  • ""
  • Participate in best and final sales support as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration or a related field from a four-year college or university, or four to five years of related experience.
  • ""
  • 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • ""
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • ""
  • Ability to solve complex issues and deal with many variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • ""
  • Experience sourcing and interpreting data from multiple avenues to help make strategic decisions for internal and external customers (i.e. pharmacy data, medical data, internal decision support data)
  • ""
  • Travel up to 50% nationwide

Colorado Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $94,500 to $171,700.
