Your primary areas of responsibility include new business development as well as agency marketing, promotion and publicity. With the support of internal resources and a dynamic management team hungry to grow the company, this position manages the agencys new business program and serves as the primary point of contact for business development. 


Energetic self-starters with a consultative sales approach will be most successful in this role. You must be results-driven and committed to developing relationships that lead to new business opportunities, while making the most of the agencys opportunities to respond to suitable RFPs.



Position Objectives

  • Strategically grow our client portfolio by leveraging the agencys relevant experience to selectively prospect and pitch new business

  • Position and market us as a growing company and emerging leader in creativity

  • The above will be measured by the conversion effectiveness in proactive prospecting and competitive reviews/RFPs

  • Ultimately, play a leading role in securing revenue growth of at least 10% annually.



Business Development


This position is responsible for implementing the marketing plan through specific tactics to drive sales:

  • Manages and directs the agencys new business efforts to ensure that the goals of the annual new business plan are met.

  • Develops and executes the plan to systematically target, attack and convert high quality prospects.

  • With input from the agencys executive team, develops and maintains a list of new business prospects.

  • Owns and updates internal prospecting/leads databases.

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for most new business leads.

  • Leads the development of RFP and RFI responses, with the ability to make discerning decisions about when to play and when to pass.

  • Collaborates with key management and staff on the development of new business presentations.

  • Secures meetings and meets with new business prospects to help assess fit and evaluate opportunities.

  • Supervises the activities of a New Business Coordinator


Agency Marketing

  • Executes an annual agency marketing plan with specific goals, strategies, audiences and tactics for marketing the agency to its primary audiences. This includes assuring the agencys owned channels (Website, social media, search marketing) are effective and optimized for prospect engagement.

  • Assists in agency self-promotion (i.e., awards entries, press release distribution, speaking engagements, production of online and offline materials, etc.)

  • Oversees the development and maintenance of a permission-based email database of prospects and other key audiences.

  • Manages the content and deployment of agency email marketing program and Webinars.

  • Working with public relations on an active publicity program for the agency.

  • Helps represent and promote the agency at industry functions.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with agency search consultants.



  • Bachelors degree required.

  • The ideal candidate will have a combination of account management and business development experience in an agency setting. We want to see that you have a track record of growing and/or winning accounts.

  • A minimum of 5 years successful business development experience--ideally in an agency setting or a brand consultancy, at least 3 of which were in a leadership role. 

  • Live and work in the United States, preferably in a significant ad market.
