DFS is currently hiring a Director of Corporate Training to join our Team to support future growth of the Company. If you are looking for a new place to call home, we would love to talk to you!


The Director role is primarily responsible for designing and delivering instruction on the topics of companywide processes and systems, new employee onboarding, sales, leadership/professional development, and other company/department specific subjects. The role will actively provide subject-matter-expertise in the development and enhancement of curriculum. The Director will ideally have a deep operational understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance industry and have experience achieving training goals of large company with disbursed employee base. The Director must have experience in adult-learning methodologies and teaching with multiple supporting resources, e.g. facilitator and participant guides, job aids, audience response systems, and videos for audience sizes ranging from 10 to 100+ people.


DUTIES




* Design and lead the learning vision, roadmap and content development process including intake, design, prioritization, capacity planning and post mortem reviews

* Provide subject-matter-expertise as a key component in developing and enhancing core/specialty curriculum and evaluations.

* Deliver instruction/facilitation of training, including classroom, virtual, webinars, performance groups, workshop sessions, and blended solutions.

* Apply instructional design and delivery methodologies to maximize adult learning and practical application.

* Identify and apply necessary updates to materials, delivery methods, and evaluation tools to support program goals.

* Deliver educational offerings to a standard that are recognized by participant feedback evaluation as above average in all areas scored.

* Contribute to collection and curation of industry best practices/processes, update KPIs/benchmarks, and performance assessment resources to support client awareness and evaluation of improvement opportunities.

* Collaborate with key stakeholders in the development and implementation of customized programs and new models for training and consulting.

* Develop strong professional relationships with all department leaders to understand their business needs and translate that into opportunities for training curriculum development.

* Grow and maintain positive training relationships with all internal departments, external clients and strategic partners.

* Support ad-hoc projects related to the DFS priorities and initiatives

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of progressive experience in learning & development functions including in-person training, virtual training and facilitation roles, along with curriculum design.

* Bachelors Degree Education, Human Resources, Communications, or related field required.

* Up to 25% travel (occasional weekends) may be required to deliver in-person training.

* Common knowledge of the trucking industry; experience with fleet maintenance or other transportation experience in automotive/trucking would be very helpful

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook), setup and operation of relevant audio-visual equipment, and have an aptitude for learning and applying new technologies and instruction techniques.

* Experience coordinating multiple business and training events required

* Understanding of adult learning principles, methodologies, best practices.

* Experience in preparation and delivery of detailed lesson plans, exercises, pre/post work and tests, and related instructional aides to ensure knowledge and practical application of learning appropriate to the students job function and learning objectives.

* Expert in group facilitation (in-person and virtual) and team coaching with a track record of improving overall performance.

* Excellent ability to engage with people at all levels of an organization. Proven track record of communicating and processing complex and sensitive information in both verbal and written formats.

* Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.

* Demonstrated agility when responding to client needs in a fast-paced, constantly changing, deadline-driven environment.

* Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Solid influencing, negotiation and facilitation skills with the ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, peers, subordinates and other key stakeholders.

* Exceptional ability to prioritize and complete multiple complex projects simultaneously.

* Strong project management skills. Must have the ability to document and communicate project plans, monitor work in progress, and achieve project milestones/end results for others to understand.

* Strong business acumen, with the ability to credibly make a business case, by linking current and anticipated business challenges with learning and development solutions.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills fostering effective interaction among a variety of stakeholder
