Overview Job Title: Director of Potato Seed Procurement Employer: Frito Lay, Inc. Location: 7701 Legacy Dr. Plano, TX 75024 Responsibilities Duties: Managing the supply chain and productivity initiatives of Frito Lay Propriety Seed in North America for domestic and global shipments, encompassing a spend of $60 million. Mastering all competencies of potato seed, including financials, price negotiation, supply chain strategies, state and provincial seed regulations, and crop agronomics of optimization and disease management. Managing procurement strategy and supply chain encompassing a spend of $35 million, spanning the Frito-Lay US and Spitz Branded Sunflower Seeds. Developing and executing a 5-year plan for each Frito Lay North America chip grower and PepsiCo importing Country by variety, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external growers to optimize productivity, and commercialize new varieties. Creating and executing strategy for whole seed productivity, including targeted chip and seed growers, with strategic infrastructure plan, and seed price negotiation. Providing financial analysis of all costs and revenue by seed grower, by generation, with subsequent contract negotiations for advantaged pricing. Creating, managing, and executing supply chain plan for 1,000 source / destination lanes, delivering least landed cost. Managing execution of 350 + seed agreements, including ownership of the Seed Potato Procurement system. Managing seed grower expansion and capabilities of digital system with analysis and interpretation of information to drive information visibility, developing action plans for best practices and productivity. Managing Annual Operations Planning and Financial Reporting Supplier Management and Price Negotiation, managing cost, quality, and service. Understanding and interpretation of commodity markets impacting scope of spend including exchange rates, logistics, competitive markets, and other agricultural commodities. Responsible for Supply Chain Management with demand forecasting, execution of plan, optimized sourcing, and support of new product launches. Developing and leading action plans to deliver annual productivity targets, including high-level cross functional alignment. *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Frito-Lay, Inc. office in Plano, TX. Qualifications Bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Science, or a related field and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Prior experience must include ten (10) years of experience with: Agricultural Business experience, including market drivers and risks impacting commodities, farmer crop inputs, and supply chain management with demand forecasting; and five (5) years of experience with: potato farming practice, including financials, price negotiation, supply chain strategies, storage and handling requirements, and crop agronomics; potato seed, including experience with the potato seeds relationship to the potato crop, proper storage and handling practices, and the financial market for buying and selling potato seed and agriculture import and export market, including common trade lanes, import and export restrictions, local and international legal and government requirements, and financial analysis. 25% travel to visit growers, domestic and international.
