Cisco is searching for a Director of Business Development to lead our Market Opportunity Capture team. This role is part of the US Public Sector (USPS) Sales Operations & Strategy. You will be responsible for developing and driving the market opportunity development and capture strategy for Cisco Public Sector. You will have responsibilities including demand generation, customer engagement, and capture process management. A firm understanding of the challenges government and education customers face in their digital transformation and how Cisco can help will be key. Specific knowledge of government acquisitions and contracting processes is required.

Job Responsibilities Details:

o   You will be responsible for leading Cisco Public Sectors Market Opportunity Capture functions with emphasis on State, Local & Education Markets along with Public Sector technology and consumption transitions.

o   Developing Market opportunities across Ciscos portfolio

o   Leading Public Sector capture development and maintenance

o   Leading direct capture efforts

o   Partnering with the Public Funding, Contracts & Proposals teams to lead the use of public funding, grants, etc. to help States with their IT transformation

o   Drive and create outcome-based selling motion for the field, with strong cross-organization collaboration

o   Collaborate closely with key cross-functional teams across Sales, Services, and Engineering



Who Youll Work With

In this role, you will have the ability to manage market opportunity capture and business model transitions in USPS, including government acquisitions, contracting and public funding. To achieve this, you will need to harness the power of teams. Youll work closely with the USPS Sales Strategy and Operations leadership team along with Field Sales & Engineering and the Customer Experience team.

This role will report to the Senior Director of the USPS Sales Strategy & Operations organization.

Who You Are

o   Business Administration, Economics or related degree, MBA preferred

o   Experience working with federal, state and local government, and education customers and partners

o   Deep knowledge of contracting for federal and state & local government

o   Experience of developing and selling complex solutions to government organizations

o   Demonstrated ability to build and maintain extensive customer relationships

o   Experience in working and successfully integrating into a virtual sales organization that includes Sales (all levels) and the technical community

o   Experience in collaborating with cross-functional organizations

o   Extensive background and understanding of product, service, and financial selling tools

o   Experience building actionable long and short-term sales plans based on a deep understanding of the impacts of business and technology trends

o   Understanding a broad range of customer technologies required

o   Excellent communication skills and ability to persuade using simple communications that convey complex concepts in a compelling, concise, and creative way



You will have the following Technical Skills:

o   Technical proficiency to work across the wide range of technologies, products and markets

o   Understanding of a broad range of Ciscos hardware, software and service offerings

o   Strong track record that includes demonstrable career progression and a focus on the high-tech industry

o   Strong analytical and financial skills

o   Experience government acquisitions processes and requirements

o   Demonstrable experience selling complex technical solutions to executive management
