Job Description

Teva is searching for a Director, Site Engineering to join our team in Irvine, CA!

The Director, site engineering is ultimately responsible for strategic and tactical problem solving for Maintenance and Engineering related issues at site level.

You will lead our team of Engineering and Maintenance professionals in pro-active Reliability Engineering and current problem resolution ensuring best equipment functionality while also compliant with company and state and federal regulations.

You will:

  • Maintain all production equipment, facilities and utilities in an effective operational and compliant state.
  • Ensure that installations and changes to equipment and systems are carried out, qualified, and documented according to approved protocols, change control procedures and in compliance with relevant cGMP and corporate requirements.
  • Build a site Master Plan (5 years) that provides a roadmap for required facility upgrades and investments, including rationale, ROI, etc., in order to ensure business aligns with Quality & EHS requirements as well as Global strategy.
  • Initiate and lead introduction of new assets, equipment and systems that will contribute to the business strategy direction, in accordance with approved change control procedures.
  • Provide guidance to ensure compliance with all applicable external and internal regulations and requirements regarding Quality and EHS within the scope of Engineering.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement to meet/exceed world-class manufacturing standards using Operational Excellence principles while continuously developing Engineering best practices.
  • Lead efficient and effective Engineering activity through managing the Engineering site budget and resources.
  • Identify, develop and retain qualified people to provide Engineering and Maintenance services.
  • Become an influential functional expert within the site leadership team. Influence decision-making and take an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, teamwork and collaboration across sites functions.
  • Implement global best practices and actively share knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a highly professional level of engineering
  • Serve as the main Teva representative in communication with suppliers, subcontractors and planning firms regarding the sites assets, equipment, systems and maintenance services.   Supervise their activity to ensure efficient and effective work and to ensure Tevas business interests and global agreements and standards are met.
Qualifications
  • BS in related engineering degree required. Masters degree in related preferred.
  • 10 years of Maintenance (Utilities/Facilities) and Engineering related leadership in a fast-moving GMP commercial manufacturing environment required. 15 years preferred.
  • Ability to problem solve both proactively and on the fly, and to install those qualities within the team.
  • Aseptic fill experience required.
  • Understanding of sterile injectables required.
  • Experience in a biologics manufacturing environment a plus.
  • Recent Director-level experience required. Must have experience on site SLT (Sr. Leadership Team).
  • Ability to influence others and build cross-functional teams while setting clear business objectives required.
  • Demonstrated Technical Expertise required.
  • Ability to communicate and present to top management both verbally and in writing, while translating vision and goals into work plan to be implemented worldwide.
