Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Director, to join our team and play a lead role in engagements across the breadth of the services we offer; with a focus on financial advice and remediation services.

As a member of the Promontory Australasia team at IBM you will contribute to the firm's global efforts to provide clients with solutions to challenging strategic, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Our client base in Australia includes Australias largest financial institutions and clients drawn from the public sector.
You will apply your deep regulatory and industry knowledge and experience, lead and provide direction on projects ensuring timely and delivery of all project deliverables to the high standards our clients have grown to expect. You will also lead and mentor team members through projects and in their professional development.


What are the responsibilities of the role?
  • Manage engagement teams and projects to client satisfaction.
  • Working with clients on an ongoing basis to identify and understand their needs and the role Promontory can play in addressing them.
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing and/or new clients and generate business.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to budget and meeting profit and realization targets.
  • Oversee project deliverables and deliver as an individual contributor where expected.
What skills will be needed?
  • The ability to Interact comfortably with Chairman, CEO, COO, and other executives and Board members of clients and regulatory authorities
  • Strong leadership skills and the stature to engage effectively with clients at all levels and to inspire and work effectively with team members drawn from a range of technical disciplines
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and strategy development skills, with demonstrated ability to rapidly synthesise information from complex material, and identify solutions and outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, simply and logically.
  • The ability to lead and manage day to day aspects of engagement activities and to manage multiple tasks.
  • The ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and build teams.
  • Superior writing and editing skills with the ability to construct well-founded, clear, and concise analyses and recommendations.

What professional and technical experience will I need?
  • 10 years of experience in a senior-level position in a financial institution/consulting/accounting/law firm/government agency.
  • Technical expertise and experience in compliance, risk management, corporate governance, accounting; or legal or regulatory issues, finance, lending, trading and/or other financial services core competencies.
  • An undergraduate degree in either Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or Law - and ideally advanced diploma of Financial Planning, Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or Law
