The impact of Digital / eCommerce has fundamentally evolved and in some cases transformed almost every consumer segment with groceries / consumables being the next space that external experts and large players (e.g., Amazon, Walmart) are betting on. As a result, e-commerce is one of the fastest-growing areas within the consumer products industry and represents a significant opportunity to accelerate growth for PepsiCo going forward.

The growth opportunity is broad-based, with both developed and developing markets experiencing rapid growth in this channel. As the Sr. Merchandising Associate, you will be responsible for developing and leading execution of assortment and brand strategy, vendor negotiations and vendor relationships to deliver financial results for assigned product categories, and will be actively involved in development of long-term business strategies based on industry trends and competitive analysis

Accountabilities:

  • Own retail product P&L for assigned categories including development of financial plans and making real time adjustments to meet sales, margin %, margin $, and inventory turnover targets.
  • Develop and manage assortment and pricing strategy to meet financial targets.
  • Lead execution of all promotional activities within the brand including analysis, promotional planning, product identification, messaging, pricing, and presentation.
  • Manage vendor relationships for the purpose of improving margin, leading operational process improvements, and financial planning for the various categories and vendors.
  • Establish and execute a site experience roadmap for the brand, including vendor shops, lifestyle showcases/shops., appropriate taxonomy, and enhanced search through partnership with site Category Managers.
  • Leverage key partners in eCommerce to execute against these strategies.
  • Responsible for the ongoing coaching and development of team members to manage individual performance and create a team environment that people want to be a part of.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Merchandising, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • 7+ years of merchandising experience. Preferably in the multi-channel or Mass Retail industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Self-starter, have a high level of flexibility and commitment, and a strong drive to win.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), problem-solving skills, and analytical skills.
  • Possess proven leadership skills including leading projects, recruiting, developing and motivating teams.
  • Adept at working cross-functionally to achieve desired results.
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office tools to achieve results.
  • Possess the ability to think outside of the box and innovate to solve complex problems.
