Job Description

General Duties:
Ensure facility compliance with all regulations, permits, and corporate standards that apply to the GEHSMS Management Standards and Global Environmental Management Safety (GEMS). This includes but is not limited to:

  • Understand the importance of conformance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety GEHSMS requirements
  • Build site compliance and technical competence in GEHSMS audit/OSHA programs
  • Develop and maintain documents and records to ensure OSHA compliance (training logs, audit records, etc.)
  • Manage MyEHS compliance tasks and action plans
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and behaviour observations
  • Assist other GEHSMS program owners for 100% compliance
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the PepsiCo GEHSMS standards
  • Identify, report, and rectify potential violations and non-conformances
  • Maintain records as required by Frito-Lay protocol, permit or rule/regulation.

  • Report spills or other incidents as required by regulation and/or incident reporting protocol.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the FLNA GEMS and environmental audit protocol.
  • Identify report (as appropriate) and rectify potential violations and non-performance with the GEMS.
  • Facilitate site safety team meetings and NEO/training for employees, visitors, and contractors
  • Assist in planning of quarterly wellness and safety events and collaborate with vendors
  • Purchase site safety supplies (signage, PPE, etc.)
  • Manage shoe voucher and prescription eyewear programs
  • Other projects and activities as assigned

Program Ownership:
The EHS Coordinator will own and manage aspects of the GEHSMS Management Standards programs. Programs include, but are not limited to:
  • Communications
  • Management Leadership and Commitment
  • Regulatory and Other Legal Requirements
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping
  • Chemical Storage and Management

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload
  • Must be able to professionally handle sensitive situations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with and build relationships with all levels of site staff
  • Must be fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred but not required
