EHS Manager, Plano R&D and Technology Process Center
Overview The Site EHS Manager is responsible for setting the Environmental, Health & Safety agenda across the PepsiCo Plano R&D and TPC (Technology Process Center) sites and supporting on Global R&D EHS Policy. This person must ensure the maintenance of current EHS standards and programs, as well as lead the implementation of the PepsiCo Global EHS Management System across the two sites. To further evolve the sites EHS agendas, the EHS Manager also leads the development and execution plans to foster an EHS culture working in synergy within the framework of the PepsiCo business culture, with an aim to promote this EHS culture model across the R&D community. Responsibilities As the Site EHS lead, the job holder is the SME on all EHS related matters, coaching on relevant legislation and internal Global Environmental Health and Safety systems. Includes serving as the site expert for risk management processes and leading the development & application of the site risk assessment matrices. Leads EHS team with accountability for staff development and site EHS competence development. Develop and foster an EHS culture which will work in synergy within the framework of the PepsiCo business culture, with an aim to promote this EHS culture model across the R&D community. Lead the development and implementation of EHS annual operating plans and budget Ensure EHS compliance with all regulatory agency needs. Serves as key contact person for all internal and external audits. Leads and conducts internal safety & environmental audits and inspections. Represents Plano R&D and TPC on all EHS matters, both internally and externally (suppliers, contractors, external bodies etc.). Lead safety action teams to identify EHS improvement opportunities and develop action plans for implementation with clear accountabilities. Continually develop effective communication media and supply information that is relevant for the following: notice boards, SAT teams, site leadership meetings, internal & external performance reports, individual PDR information, safety bulletins. Responsible for the reporting of KPIs and EHS incidents to site leadership and other key stakeholders. Provide daily support and coaching to managers / standard owners in the resolution of EHS issues. Own the process of auditing on accident investigations and risk assessments and feedback to site management teams to drive continuous improvement. Develop and deliver training to associates on EHS management systems and requirements including safe working practices. Control of all EHS documentation within document control procedures. Review and own EHS induction program for all associates, contractors and visitors. Establishes and maintains networks with other contacts within the Global EHS organization and Global R&D teams. Support on global programs and facilitate best practice and sharing across the PepsiCo R&D Global community Qualifications Minimum of 6+ (~9 preferred) years relevant experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, including strong experience with environmental compliance within industrial and/or manufacturing environments Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety or other relevant disciple; Masters degree preferred Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) preferred Experience performing EHS inspections, ensuring EHS compliance, and leading EHS compliance training along with knowledge of audit and due diligence techniques Functional EHS Knowledge in regulatory requirements, EHS technical aspects (safety, industrial hygiene, environmental), risk management, behavior-based safety, training, auditing / program review, regulatory agency enforcement, EHS vendor / consultant management, business knowledge required Proven track record in driving cultural change in EHS Onsite role - willingness to work on regular basis at both the Plano R&D and TPC (Duncanville, Texas) facilities Willingness to travel up to 25% Note : COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment for this role.
